Yes, better graphics = leading the industry to another level, I guess this is the kind of logic I should be expecting from you. We are talking about Dreamcast graphics on 2006 though, a whole new level indeed. |
Yes better graphics is one aspect it brought to another level. It also had more console like experience compared to its rivals. It was more advanced and got more advanced games. Why can't you just accept the truth? It was awesome.
Considering the ease of emulation, how one can use it as a home console, and the surprising library of games...yeah, PSP ranks high on the list.
Anyone looking for something unique to play on it (or Vita), try Half Minute Hero. (There is a PC version, but PSP version is better IMO.) There was also a tac-RPG by the makers of Disgaea about a superhero, starts with a Z...Zettai maybe? Great game, anyways.
Well it's a very nice device, especially considering it's Sony's first handheld, but I wouldn't call it the best ever. GBA 4life.
For it's time, yes. PSP was an amazing piece of tech and it's library is great.

Lol, true. Although there is one game that is way better on the PSP, Persona 3 Portable! I think you could control party members on that version. There you have it... one game. Another shitty thing about the PSP is that you had to install data for certain games, that was a pain in the ass. |
You had to install data for like a handful of games? I don't even know of one that it's required either.
PSP is definitely a pretty well rounded system.

The console had so many awesome games and great features. Definitely the best handheld ever made!
Best gaming device? Don't think so, but the PSP was insane!

True but it just so happens that all the games that offer an install are on my library lol. Birth by sleep, Persona 3 Portable, I think FF 7 crisis core too, Peace Walker (not sure about that either).
It's not required but its recommended. Installing data greatly reduces loading times and improves stability.

Yeah, I do remember several games having options (Crisis Core wasn't one of them though), but I usually didn't bother. Only game I remember I did was Monster Hunter Portable 3rd because it cut load times in like half.
