Yeah. I said it couldn't because I thought there wasn't enough time based on vgchartz numbers (2.68m) but after what Nintendo reported, it probably will.

Yeah i expected Wii-U consoles to be overtracked(wich they are) and by that logic most software sales as well. But i'm glad it's doing well, it alway's hade the potential to be a sleeper hit. |
Wii U is not overtracked here, its actually undertracked.Nintendo reports states that it has sold 12.6 million, and here it is at 12.5 millions in January 9th.And Mario Maker must be undertracked by about 350k here, since vgchartz, as we all know, dont count digital.
My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Nintendo reported 12,6 million shipped, VGChartz's 12,5 million is sold through. So unless there's only 100k left on shelves, it is definitely overtracked.

As far as i know, everywhere i read said sold, not shipped. An article from IGN as an example:

It will hit 5 mill on WiiU for sure..
But thinking at future handheld/homeconsoles ports.. and the fact that it (sometime in the next 10 years) will also be on smart devices/tv.. I would say that 100 mill is also pretty sure.. (imo)

Now that Nintendo's pegged it at 3.3 million after four months on the market, 5 million lifetime is practically guaranteed.
