I agree with the 3DS award. Seriously, I know there were a lukewarm reception to Triforce Heroes, but I truly think it's a great and fun game. For WiiU I'd say XCX or Splatoon. I enjoyed SMM, but I'd not say it's the best WiiU game of this year.

I'd much rather get an explanation why Rocket League won VGChartz Goty on PS4 and PC!!! jk.

Honestly between these 2 and XCX I don't think you could have went wrong with which is the best Wii U game. Ultimately is all opinions of a small amount of people

Why does anyone need to explain anything? Splatoon was not the highest metascore Wii U game for the year. Both SMM and XCX got higher metascores. So it is completely expected that some of those review sites will give the Wii U GOTY to a game other then Splatoon. You know, it's called personal preference and it doesn;t have to be all the same, and even Nintendo fans are allowed to prefer different Nintendo games. Not everyone has to be on the same hype train.

In terms of IGN it gave Splatoon a 79, it gave XCX an 82 and it gave SMM a 90. I think if it didn't give SMM it's Wii U GOTY a please explain video would have been required.

So I'm wondering why IGN did a why they didn't give Splatoon the GOTY video.

How the hell was Triforce Heroes game of the year?

I get the Wii U- Splatoon, XCX, and mario maker were all great.

No need to explain anything. Something like game of the year is entirely subjective and everybody picks his personal favorite. Sadly, science still hasn't figured out a way to objectively and without all doubts measure "fun".

My WiiU game of the year is LEGO Jurassic World. Because I don't need a reason, deal with it! =P
