Will Nintendo Fund It?

Very likely. The franchise already built a fanbase there and has potential to increase. And Nintendo is probably the only one willing to fund a Bayonetta 3.

I would say it's pretty unlikely, but then again, there is a decent chance it could..

Not likely but them funding Bayonetta 2 was even more unlikely so who knows. I hope they continue to work with Platinum Games though, because Metroid Platinum needs to happen!

Very likely tbh as they seem to be pushing the game harder then original was, the stand alone release signals they still have a lot of interest in the series and Smash can help market the series.

I can see it happening but I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo decided not to.

0%-10%.

In September 2012, no one knew what the prospects/sales potential of the Wii U so I'm sure in Nintendo's eyes the investment in the game made sense, my guesstimate. Fast forward 3+ years and we have a clear picture that the audience, to me, is just not there, no matter what the internet forum goers say.

ZhugeEx mentioned to me that the numbers for this game, and the original, are greatly inflated. but we do know that Sega shipped 1.35million of the original in 2010 and Nintendo has yet to officially list numbers for this game.

Last rumored numbers for US is ~157k (April) LTD, Media Create has

Last rumored numbers for US is ~157k (April) LTD, Media Create has <70k LTD and I'm sure its in between in Europe. With those type numbers, be true or rumored, I'm sure Nintendo is not willing to try its luck again...but who knows.

I don't think it would be a matter of sales. I'm sure the game has been at least profitable enough to justify its funding. But more than that, when Bayo2 was announced for the WiiU, the system was everywhere in the media, on the internet, on gaming forums... the WiiU suddenly got a ton of attention and advertisement from word of mouth, and it lasted from the announcement to the release and critical praise of the game. If that is done again with a system that actually catches the interest of the gaming community in general, it could be a wonderful opportunity for Nintendo.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I think Nintendo would. At this point, it's about as popular as Pikmin and if Pikmin is getting a sequel, I don't see why Nintendo wouldn't fund a Bayonetta sequel, especially when they're hurting for teen and mature rated games that could diversify their software offerings.

They continue to fund Fatal Frame despite that series not being very successful so I say it's possible.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

At this point. Why not go the distance and buy Platinum or the Bayonetta IP, seeing as how she has become quite popular amongst Nintendo fans ,I mean she did win the Smash Ballot after all. It would be another great IP under their belt. Theyd be covered in the hack 'n' slash department, and it's anot her IP alongside Xenoblade and Splatoon that could draw in more consumers with different tastes.
