I usually just go with the default, if there isn't one I put in one of my nicknames or something that sounds vaguely amish.

If the character already has a name but lets you change it like in Earthbound, Zelda, etc, I usually keep the default name, but if it doesn't, I just put 'Vini' and I'm good to go!
