So, you'll damage every other gaming company regardless of the quality of work they put out...

if they put quality work on a nintendo platform, then id help them, sure. ive done this with titles such as deblob, no more heroes, madworld, etc. all they have to do is publish it on a nintendo system.

So however well Sony, blizzard, valve, microsoft, etc. does, you won't support them because they don't associate with nintendo? I get it if it's just you, but you had others do the same as a GameStop.

this is a dumb mentality to have. You aren't rewarding good work, you are blindly rewarding a company for whatever they do, good or bad

ill post mine at some point. im waiting for the right time. i would have more nintendo stuff but i do collect for other systems.

as for GC, i have about 80 of them complete and the rest are just the discs by themselves. i also have a very high standard when it comes to collecting games. i often buy brand new original cases to put them in and all my boxes for n64 and snes are mint. most of them anyway. i would have more stuff, but my standard is through the roof. no torn labels, no scratches on the disc, no markers. all my games work, etc.

When you keep your games unnopened I can see why.

lol i usually open them before i throw them in my closet, but in the particular case in the OP, i didnt. i still have devils third unopened though.

Why remove the plastic if you aren't going to play?

I would agree with it being funny.

But you've yet to suggest why your store would be earning more profit from Nintendo console games, in fact if you were suggesting that people were buying these new copies of games by trading in games for the consoles they had (presumable Nintendo titles) which you would then go on to suggest customers did not buy in place of more new copies of games instead.

If a company pays money to a supplier for goods, and then you exchange those goods for an item you are not pushing to your customer, how much profit does the company make from the goods it is buying from the supplier? Like I said as well, a company like Gamestop or anywhere which deals in second hand gaming will never want to stockpile used software, it drops in value so fast, it has to be turned over quickly or it is more loss again.

Edit - I must add, this is only if the sales ploy of a teenage gamestop employee worked, I'm not in the least bit saying that it had any effect on the games the store sold, just that what you intended to have happen, would be bad for Nintendo in the long run, not good.

your edit: yes, we are discussing the logical conclusion of what i was trying to accomplish. ive understood that.

as for your point: ah, but this is where the beauty of it being nintendo comes in. yes, you want a quick turnover of used products because it drops in value very fast. i know that you know this isnt the case for nintendo. mario party 8, for example, still sells for 40 dollars used. call of duty, on the other hand, does not. and again, i have to mention that i was very motivated to quickly get rid of used games for the other systems, so i was helping GS, i mean, thats all there is to it.

to be clear, they werent always trading in games when this was happening, im just saying that it isnt uncommon.

Odd, MP8 here costs around 10€ and just because some Nintendo first party games do hold their value pretty well, that isn't true of the majority of their games, things like Rhythm paradise Wii here dropped from being a €40 game to being about €2-4 not more than a month or two after launch. so the exceptions like Mario Kart and New Super Mario Bros are just that. Not to mention 3rd party games on the Wii they dropped like rocks in value too after the systems initial boom on launch ended.

i have every amiibo except two i think. i have probably 60 3ds games, almost every n64 game, almost 50 wii u games. anything else?

edit: oh you said etc, ok, 150 wii games, 300 nes games, 200 snes games, 250 gc games, probably like 200 ds games, 100 gba games, a bunch of GB games. i dont know, these are rough estimates, i havent counted in forever.i have a bunch.

Well I have every N64 game, including 5 Japanese games. I own 113 Wii U games, 50 plus 3DS games, nearly every amiibo as well. 250 GC games would be amazing! Do you have a picture? Not too many people on this planet would have that. Wii games I only have about 60 though. I never enjoyed that system.

I have post my collection a few times on this site.

I'm closing in on the 200 mark now myself, getting pretty thin in terms of the ones which I have yet to fill in in the collection. Mostly EU with a few exceptions like Donkey Konga 1 + 3 I have from Japan. I've stuck pics on here a few times... of my now alphabetised collection of GC games heh.

i work at a locally owned used video game store, and we still sell MP8 for 40. havent checked GS's prices, but it cant be too different. i absolutely loved rhythm heaven, and youre right, that game dropped in value somewhat fast as did many other third party games on wii. i think NA versions of games tend to have a higher value than PAL for some reason.

Why would you buy something, especially the games, and then just throw them into the closet with no intention of playing them?

I mean, I would think the reason you're a Nintendo fanatic and love 'giving them money' and supporting them, would be because you love their games, right?

Also, I'm sure you realize this, but just blindly buying all of a companies products out of sheer desire to support them is not a very smart consumer decision, even as a fan of said company.

While Triforce Heroes by all accounts is a stelllar and fun game that offers a lot of content, something as uninspired and bare bones as Ultra Smash does not necessarily deserve your support.
If you are a nintendo fan, you should support games you genuinely like, and want to see more of, in their library, to show them demand for those games is there. If you buy lazy and rushed games like Ultra Smash on the other hand you show them that they can get away with that and still make money, they likely are going to try it again.

If you value Nintendo's current quality standarts and games, don't support their screw-ups, because overall quality is going to drop. And then they're not going to be the company that you knew and love anymore.

I'm a nintendo fan, because I like their awesome producs, I have a lot of nostalgia and positivity towards them.
But you also have to realize that they're a company. They care about making money, so they don't perish, they don't care about you personally.

Of course you are perfectly free to blow your money on whatever you like, but If you're going spend it on products you don't care for, make it amiibos. There's a lot of them.

Couldn't agree more with this, if you want to give money to Nintendo and show the world how great their games are OP, why not have just bought 2 copies of Tri Force heroes and give one to someone you know who owns a 3ds but might not have bought the game, don't know someone with a 3DS, spend that money which is now laying on the floor of your closet on buying them a 3ds system and the game, that way you could end up creating a new Nintendo fan + supporting games which Nintendo makes which are great in 1 move. Rather than giving them money for titles which are just damaging to their IP's in terms of quality control.

Imo buying games which you know to be bad is voting with your wallet for Nintendo... but it is voting for the wrong candidate in their party.

That is such a much better idea than what he has been doing, if he acually want's to maximize profits for Nintendo.

Not to mention it would also create positivity around the brand (because, who doesn't like gifts?) and in his personal life, especially since Triforce Heroes is a co-op game. Do that with two people in your life, play the game toghether and you've probably created two livelong fans.

But that would be like a long term investment. :P

When it comes to the Wii version of that it's even weirder when you consider the EU version came with the full audio of both the Japanese original and the US audio. Got a super deal... I think I paid under €5 for it.

And yeah checked one of the sites I buy from online here, €15 for MP8 there with a ton of copies in stock.

Haha, planting Nintendium seeds in future generations! Also great idea for the co-op, "hey I got you this present... only one little catch, I'll give you a run through its features.... while you're my co-op bitch for all the games I buy you"

I tend to do that with some mates of mine tho, to a lesser extent, just if I really enjoy a game series when I move onto the second game I make sure and lend the first onto all my mates I think would be interested, works out more often than not when it comes to multi player stuff like street fighter 4 (giving away my disks for SF4 vanilla and Super street fighter 4, but still having Street fighter 4 AE and Ultra Street fighter 4) I've made fans of a few people just because I had the game to give away to them. Dead space was another where I made sure to lend around the first to mates and now got a few who have the collectors editions of all 3 copies of the games from me planting the interest there.

What an odd question..

I like playing Nintendo games, but if I could get games on sale I would definitely go for that instead of paying full price for it.. :p

Oh, weirdly your question jumped to the top of the post rather than the end, No not natively you can't (triple negative, still correct!) , here in EU you need a disk called a freeloader to be able to boot either US or Jap games, I think the same exists in the states for the GC, I got a US copy of Animal Crossing and Sonic heroes (and the EU version later of Heroes) as well as the JP DK games I said, Freeloader allows both other regions start up.

Point to note!!! you can never save a JP game using an EU console tho, the firmware doesn't have the JP character set to be able to properly write and label the save data on the memory cards, all you do if you try to save the game is end up with a lot of corrupt data, no real issue with the Donkey Konga games tho, it doesn't take 5 mins to unlock the hard modes of Good songs and doing 1 of those will give you the coins to unlock the rest, so each time playing that JP copy of 1/3 was fresh from the start. I'm not sure if US consoles would have the same issues, you should look into it before starting importing games.
