Probably two phases 2016 & 2017. I would very much like a November launch of the complete package. Our wallets will hurt.

Why would they lose money? Design you hardware intelligently and you can have powerful hardware still sold at a profit or cost. |
I mean they'll lose money if they don't have the home console out this year. Because the Wii U has no games coming out. Zelda will bomb.
If it is a fusion concept, I don't think they will release the handheld/home portion between two years. Though it is very likely they will do a summer /winter stagger. And it will be in 2017. The "lack" of announced games isn't proof of anything since they started ND presentations they use a ND to cover the summer games and E3 is for the end of the year.

It's not obvious by that statement in any way. Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, etc, and even software developers, all decide internally when to speak about something. |
You forget that Sony and Microsoft were having a race over who releases first back then. That is why vagueness was especially predominant and the system released so soon after the unveils. That is not the case here.
Besides they don't outright lie, they keep it vague, wich is important. But Nintendo's president also said they wont be rushing anything into the market. So... get out of that one. The Nintendo that delay's almost every HD game is gonna have a new line-up of finished titles for this fall an next year. Its a pipe dream. As i said before, we can wait until E3 for you to see. I don't mind. You guys obviously don't know Nintendo very well.
I could at best see a portable launch in japan this year, but nothing is gonna make it to the west that may be a sucessor to the Wii U or 3DS.

Yeah, "we won't be rushing anything into the market" ain't vague at all. ;)

Third form? You mean like a tablet? ...now I kind of want an NX tablet (or mini-tablet) form factor with analog sticks and buttons. |
Yes, at least I expect so.
Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor
Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

I predict it launches in 3 phases.
Portable - 2017 (summer)
Home Console - 2018 (Fall)
N-Stick (Nintendo's version of a steam stick. Allowing games you buy on the eshop from pc to stream to tv) - 2020
