Why would they lose money? Design you hardware intelligently and you can have powerful hardware still sold at a profit or cost.

Actually, if they are going to release the NX in two phases, I think the home console will come first. They will try to put as much power on the handheld part to run the shared games as closely as possibble, so it needs more developement time. Also, the WiiU is in poorer condition than the 3DS, even if it is a younger system.

2 phases, but both in 2017. Handheld early in the year (February-April), home console late in the year (October-December... but I've never heard of a console releasing in October).

I would say it doesn't matter if the NX is a hh,a hc, a hybrid or an ecosystem of systems the NX is most defiantly coming nov.16 if NX was a 2017 thing Nintendo would have announced more Wii U/3DS games at E3 or after, if we remove localizations,ports and delays how many games have they announce for 2016?
