That's some generous maths. If you have trouble to count beyond 10, pull off your socks to see your toes. |
Lol. Would it scare you that I work part time as a math tutor?

But wait, let's see here.. nes+snes is 1985-1996, that's 11 years. Gameboy was 1989-2004, so that's 15. DS would be 2004-2016/2017, so that is about 13, and Wii is 2006-2017. 11 years.
I used the word "about" which has a few different uses in the English language. In this sense, it means that it is around a specified value. Not that it's an exact value, but it is somewhat close to it, so I see where you got confused.
| PerturbedKitty said: I think you're onto something here. The "nes" line lasted about a decade, the "gameboy" idea lasted about a decade, the "DS" line lasted about a decade, and the "Wii" line will last about a decade. It seems to be how Nintendo goes about things. So we might be entering a new Era here pretty soon. The only systems that didn't follow some larger overarching theme seem to be the N64 and GC. |
GBA only last 3 years, NES lasted 7 years from the original launch in Japan until the SNES arrived. then it was 6 years until the N64, 5 until the GC, 5 until the Wii before 6 until the Wii U.
GB is also an odd case as the GBC was a massive jump in hardware (specs below) over the original it was a new gen in itself but both are grouped together, that's why the GB lasted for so long.
CPU: GB (8bit at 4.19MHz), GBC (8bit at 8.33MHz)
Ram: GB (8KB), GBC (32KB)
Color Palette: GB (2bit), GBC (15bit)
ROM: GB (256Bytes), GBC (8MB)

I know what that word means, but when you have a value as low as 10, then a value like 15 in the case of the Gameboy brand isn't "about 10" because it is already off by 50%. By the way, you are showing disturbing signs of desperation to get this thread to the 1,000 posts mark. |
been there, done that, right? lol
And no I'm not. Not at all. What gives you that idea

3DS numbers and likely lower baseline when they'll settle make me think (even more than I already did) that the first NX we'll see will be the portable one, Ninty can afford its weakest platform to be weak for some more months, but not both its home and portable consoles.

Thanks for providing evidence and facts. SOME users (soundwave *cough*) don't like providing evidence when they come into the thread and make claims.

dafuq? I'm not the SDL (soundwave defense league) but Wave has been the one here, for the longest, talking about falling 3DS numbers all around and has received backlash for it. Wave always has been a proponent of replacing the 3DS first.

I'm mainly referring to his latest comment about how it looks like wii u is getting replaced this year. I asked him how and there has been no reply.
He has been saying that about the Wii u this entire time. I have no problem with the idea of the 3ds getting replaced this year. Hell, I even said that in the op. I'm 50/50 on that, I can see it going either way. This discussion is about the Wii u though, and he has been uncompromising on that position. I don't have a problem with his position on 3ds.
