Pokken to also feature LAN multiplayer between two Wii Us

Serebii

Some modes have been announced for the Wii U version of Pokkén Tournament. First is the standard Single Battle, which has three different difficulty levels. Next is the previously announced local battle where one player plays on the GamePad and another with a standard controller. During this mode, the game will run at 30fps rather than the standard 60fps. Finally is the online mode which has rankings and competitions. It also states that you can use a LAN Cable to link two Wii Us

That's pretty cool, though I wish games like Splatoon had a LAN mode, considering it's a team based shooter.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

More pics!!!

Lan is a great idea, too bad someone has to use the gamepad for local multiplayer

I'd like to fly over to Japan and LAN some of those Japanese players that host P2P matches and half a half second advantage over us western players. My GOD does that get on my nerves. lol

Pretty neat, though I probably would never be able to use that feature :p

Great screens!

Also cool news, but why? How often will people have two Wii Us near each other?

Not that often of course, but having the option is better than not. It'd certainly be useful for the tournament scene if there is one.

Yup. GameFreak plans on having a Pokken Tournament in their Pokemon Video Game Championship this year so they will probably have multiple Wii U and lan cables used there.
