How accurate do you think those numbers are for Splatoon (considering vgchartz figures are sometimes inaccurate)?  I wasn't even aware it broke 3m yet, yet alone being close to 4m sold.  In any case, Nintendo got themselves another legitimate system seller along with 3D Mario, Smash, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, mainline Zelda and mainline Pokemon.  Now, if only they can manufacture a legit Teen/Mature rated system seller.  Still amazes me that in 30 years, they still haven't made one that broke out.

3 Millions are passed for sure. Even if we ignored all the western sales and only use Media Create with Nintendos own numbers until end of semptember, we're already around 3 Millions. In fact, including digital sales, Splatoon should have passed the 4 Million mark already. I'm actually expecting between 4.3 and 4.6 Millions total in the next quaterly report for Splatoon.

The link also highlights some tracking inaccuracies for several games, especially Super Mario 3D World and Nintendo Land. Compare the VGChatz numbers with those provided by Nintendo in the link above, that's not even close for those 2 games. And I doubt it's all due to digital sales, either.

As for the Teen/Mature System seller, how about Xenoblade Chronicles X? Hyrule Warriors? TPHD and Zelda U will probably also fall into this category, and maybe Pokkén Tournament and Star Fox Zero, too.

Am I the only one who expected a Tbone thread?

Yeah, it seems like VGChartz estimates sales frequently but even then it's still fun to see all the numbers of units sold for games (even if you always have to take them with a grain of salt).

Also, shouldn't have thrown in the "teen" part with the whine about the lack of M-Rated 1st party system sellers without doing some peliminary research.

If I were in Nintendo now seeing that Halo 5 didn't perform particularly well I'd be throwing money at anybody who can make a Metroid Prime game for me to release it in 2 years/ 2 years and a half...

Limited bundle for Black Friday.  Bundle returned on Dec 14th.

Splatoon hit 1 million in sales back in June after the 4th week.

I didn't say Splatoon's success is all bundling. It launched as a bundle and had holiday bundling. Japan bundling was also pretty significant.

That certainly didn't hurt overall sales.

I'm not that happy about the wonderful 101. The game is really good! :(
Though I celebrate Splatoon sales as much as all of you :P

It didn't launch as a bundle and Japan didn't get a bundle until December.  It sold about 2.5 million before it got bundled.

Yes, it has been bundled a few times including launch.

But again, its success with bundles excluded.
