Forums - Nintendo - So I sold my Xbox One and instead, bought a....

...SNES, a brand new sealed official SNES controller as well as a bunch of games. I owned all three current generation consoles but my Xbox One was just collecting dust and I saw no point in holding on to a paper weight while it depreciates in value. I had a SNES when it launched but sold it many years ago and figured hell, I'd get 100 times more use out of this thing than an Xbox One anyway so I jumped.

The games that I have are Zelda ALTTP, Super Metroid, Star Fox, DCK 1,2 and 3, SMW, NBA Jam TE, Super Bomberman and F-Zero. I have never played Zelda, Super Metroid, Mortal Kombat 2, Star Fox and DKC3 so they're all going to be new to me. I plan to get Super Mario Kart, Secret of Mana, FF2, Yoshi's Island and Killer Instinct but I'd like to know if there's anymore I'm leaving off my must have list. I really don't like rpgs with random battles, even though I'm getting FF2 (was a childhood game I had back in the day so I must get it) so Mario RPG and any other FF games are off the table.

What do you guys suggest?

The Adventures of Batman & Robin, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition, Magic Sword, and Knights of the Round come to mind.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4, Doom troopers, Clayfighters, Actraiser... I need to get back to home lol

Edit: Super Star Wars. (Still in the office lol)

Mega Man X, Earthworm Jim, Kirby's Dream Land III, Super Castlevania IV, and I'd recommend forgetting about your no random battle rule for Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy III.

You're missing Super Mario World and Super Mario All-Stars, kind of obligatory games even if you don't like 'em, and Street Fighter 2, but to name one game I always thought was cool, is Super Aleste/Space Megaforce. It's one of those vertical scrolling space-shooters. Kind of a rare game though, at least the European version (Aleste), not sure about the American (Megaforce).

And you should get a Super GameBoy, if you have GameBoy games. Also if you don't, just get a couple GameBoy games.

You know you could have bought an Ouya for like $50 and had access to every N64, SNES, NES, GBA, etc game ever, right? You could even use PS3 controllers or whatever. Just saying.

Meh, owning a SNES is pretty much useless since you pretty much can emulate it perfectly on pretty much any device now.

He mentioned Super Mario World (or as he wrote SMW), and he doesn't like random encounter rpgs. Super Mario All-Stars is a great mention though.

Or he could have just downloaded a emulator for it on pretty much any other electronic device with a screen that he owns.  Emulation for the SNES pretty much has been perfected over 20 years ago already since the first emulators for it showed up on Windows 95.

Maybe he wanted everything physical for collections sake. It seems to be the reason no one wants to download games, and pretty much demand next gen have physical media as well.

There really is no reason for that either.
