TR is not a failure but I see no one is going to convince you of that. This game had to compete with Call of Duty, Fallout 4, Star Wars and Halo. Tell me why over 1M is bad? That's actually great numbers considering the competition. It's not even done selling either.

Of course not. The most important version remains to be released.

I hope that this game does well enough to guarantee a sequel to continue the story.

As i previously said, this game is truly a masterpiece (imo).

I would have completed 100% this game on my X1 but a fucking side quest bugged.

... and Destiny: The Taken King, and Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, and Need for Speed, and Rainbow Six: Siege, and Just Cause 3, and the Uncharted Collection, and Metal Gear Solid V, and.. and.... and... so what? Fall is the most competitive time to release a video game. That is prime time for releasing a title. MS/SE knew what was else  releasing in the fall. They could have quite easily pushed the release of Tomb Raider back to January or February if they were that concerned.

Just a quick question, and be honest - Do you think Uncharted 4 would have only sold a million copies if it was released Nov. 10th instead of ROTTR? Because I don't. ROTTR really has no excuse for selling as poorly as it did. It is not great numbers.

Well it was the only option that could be chosen if you still thought Tomb Raider sold poorly.

I can answer. I don't think Uncharted 4, CoD, new Mass Effect or Elder Scrolls would have sold "only" million if released with Fallout 4. But so what? Different games, looking at vgchartz numbers TR(2013) first 10 weeks on X1 and 360 don't seem to be far off from RotTR. You think they thought they could double those sales releasing with Fallout, eh? Though I think fallout would have affected those sales for other games as well.

You're trying hard to call it a failure amongst all that. It's not. 1M in 2 months is terrible? Only to someone who is mad or jealous.

1 Million in 2 Plataforms, in 2 Months, for a Famous Franchise is a Gigantic Flop, because they Had the Game Heavy Bundled at Black Friday, and Holidays, the Only Months os the Year that Xbox One, sell Something, and Still sold  1 Million in 2 Plataforms, after 2 Months.

While Uncharted Collection, sold over 3.3-3.5 Millions in 2 Months on a Single Plataform, and Dont came and say that Were Just Because of the Bundles,  from October 2015, to January 2016, Playstation 4, sold over 9 Millions of Consoles, the Majority of the sales were not because of the Nathan Drake Collection.

I Need to Remember that The Order, sold over 600 Thousands First Week for just 1 System ?, those are the sales of a New Ip in their First Week of Sales, and you Guys said that it Floped, while Tomb Raider, sold much less in 1 System for over a Month, and Was Black Friday.

BloodBorne, sold over 800 Thousands First Week.

in 2014, DriveClub, from October to December, sold over 1.4 Millions of Units on a Single System, a New IP, and you guys said that Were a Flop.

Now a game that have a 20 Years Fan Base, sold  1 Million on 2 Systems, after 2 Months, a Game that had a Good Score on Metacritic,  this are Good Sales ?.

Nathan Drake Collection, a Remaster sold more than 550 Thousands first week on a Single System.

Tomb Raider, was a Flop, and will sell much better on PC, and on Playstation 4, Square Enix Already Learned the Lession and will never do it again, Now the Pre-orders of the Playstation 4's Tomb Raider Version on USA, are the same that Quantum Break, and Tomb Raider, for Playstation 4, dont even have a Release date.

Trying hard? It's one of the poorest selling,  AAA exclusive games between X1 and PS4 so far. I think only Sunset Overdrive has sold worse - which was also a disappointment the year before.

Why would I be either mad or jealous? The only reason I'd be mad is if I was a stakeholder at Square Enix, or worked on the game and just saw my royalty cheque go up in flames. I'm neither. The only reason I'd be jealous is... I actually can't think of any reason why I would be jealous of a game selling poorly. You're going to have to fill me in there. But if I were an Xbox One fan I might be a bit nervious that my platform of choice is going to start losing third party exclusives because they tend not to sell very well. That's just me though.

It's also not like I'm not going to miss out on the game. I can get it for PC in a couple weeks or PS4 in the fall, and based on these sales numbers I might get a cheaper version of the game sooner, rather than later. I got TR 2013 in a steam sale or humble bundle for like $8. I have zero issues waiting for it.

You know for sure royalty checks went up in flames? You seem to know a lot about this stuff that you actually don't know anything about. This is hilarious. Nervous? I've missed out on no big 3rd party games. Which one's aren't coming to Xbox One?

The King of Fighters, is not a  Triple A Game, but is a Beloved Franchise, that wont is coming to Xbox One, only because of Install base.

Guilty Gear, also a not Big Game, but a Very Beloved Franchise be their Fans, not Coming for Xbox.

2 games from Koei Tecmo, Ni Oh, and Dead Or Alive (that was Xbox 360 exclusive), Now are Coming for Playstation 4, and not for Xbox One.

Bandai Namco's Ace Combat 7 (Ace Combat 6, was Xbox 360 Exclusive), Now is Only Coming to Playstation 4, and not Xbox One.

Triple Ace's Star Ocean (i think that the Last was Xbox 360 exclusive) is Coming for Playstation 4, and not For Xbox 360.

Capcom's Bio Hazard (or Resident Evil, if you like), Street Fighter, and Deep Down (the Last MMORPG from capcom was Multiplataform) Now are Coming to Playstation 4, and not for Xbox One.

Kojima Production's New Project (Metal Gear Solid V, sold Poorly on Xbox One, it sold more than 5 Times more on Playstation 4).

And a Lot of other Games, and This will Became even Worse for Xbox One, as the Generation Goes, Because Xbox One, already sell less than Half of What Playstation 4, sell, and Now with Big Exclusives i expect Playstation 4, Selling more than 4 Times of what Xbox One, Sells.

And Every Single Japanese game is not Coming for Xbox.

Also Dont Forget the Exclusive Deals that Sony, Will Get Without Even Try.

No of course I don't know if royalty cheques up in flames. I've openly stated I've never been a Square Enix employee, much less someone that worked on this title, and those guys and girls would be the only people that would know . However I have worked for many major development studios, and independant studios that have had contracts with major publihers. Based on my experience its entirely possible they will not recieve any royalties based on sales so far.

For example in most cases, there is a threshold of revenue a game must generate before royalties are dispursed to the development team. In some cases it's be bases on hard sales numbers (like the game must sell say, 1.4 million copies before royalties begin to be earn). There are also instances based on total revenue so if your game comes out for $60, and then 3 weeks later is $40 on a Black Friday sale, then the total revenue for that game in the first month could be significantly lower than if the game sold at $60 for the entire month. If the game hasn't brought in revenue beyond that threshold, developers don't see a dime. After that, royalties are typically based off of a certain percentage of revenue generated beyond that point that could increase or decease with additional sales. With every studio I've worked with and with every publisher I've worked with, these policies have been different. Sometimes they can differ even within the same published based on budget and expected game revenue.

So what I was getting at, for a title of this magnitude, with the development and marketing budget, it's entirely possible that sales of 1 million in the first two months is not enough for the developers to recieve a dime, and even if they do, the royalties they recieve could be a quarter to a third of what they would have recieved had the game sold 2 million copies. Do I know that's the case? Absolutely not, but I wouldn't be in the least surprised if the development team is totally gutted at sales so far.

No big games then. I'm talking CoD, Star Wars, Batman, GTA. Big games not small ones. Don't they both have small ones on one and not the other? Exclusive deals? I'm assuming you're talking about DLC. Lol come on man.
