My question is more like, will they finally add voice actors to their story based games like everyone else has done for the last 20 years? Will there be any more grounded themed games being offered? Will there be any 1st party non-cartoony games coming out from Nintendo?

Now that's what I'd love to know.

Square Enix creating a mainseries Pokemon Game for them.  

Imagine how beautiful that would be.

Guys, look at handhelds. You can look for yourself. Sure, back then it was hard to get good specs on mobile devices. However, getting good specs on mobile devices isn't expensive(nor hard) anymore.

Nintendo should not have a handheld that is as heavy as a nokia phone. If they choose to have terrible specs and a garbage resolution(such as 240p), then that just means Nintendo doesn't really care whether or not they fail.

At this rate it's more cheap for them to do a handheld with a good 720p resolution than something gimped. Their stubborness is the only obstacle.

Google and Oneplus's phones show people the power of cheap mobile devices.

i'd say squeenix has enough plates on their hands right now between FFXV, FFVII remake, Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts, not to mention the stuff from the western studios.

Nope.

Most games won't support 1080p 60FPS, because developers rather push graphics which has a bigger impact on the overall picture than a bump in resolution. On top of that there are a lot of games where 60 FPS isn't really necessary, so again they would rather increase the world detail.

1080p 60FPS could've been the standard since 360 and PS3. But developers chose to not simplify their games only to reach that target (with a few exceptions such as Virtua Tennis 4 or NBA Street Homecourt).

I personally dislike the overly feminine art direction Square-Enix uses for most of their games.  It's like they're practically begging for the Fujoshi audience.

hey, Pokemon is still a pretty fun turn-based RPG.


Imagine if Nintendo stopped making the main series games so childish and said "hey, let's make it where it doesn't involve a cheesy plot line!".

 

I for one wouldn't mind seeing that. I'd easily spend $40 for a Square Enix pokemon game

Have "ALL" games run @1080p/60fps...hm, what exactly does that mean? For example, you need AMD Fury X to run GTA V with very high settings in 1080p@60fps...that's GPU that is some 3-4x faster than PS4's GPU.

As much as I would love to see them make NX that powerful, I somehow doubt they will go berserk with their next console.

AMD Fury X costs around $600...

 

Now imagine adding the costs for the processor, monitor, and so on.

 

You're well over $1000 for a PC that can run GTA V on high settings in 1080p@60FPS.

People here state that a resolution of 480p would be too low but they forgot that (among other reasons) Vita failed because it was "too powerful" for the market, games had to be made with high graphics (for a handheld) that caused increased prices... Imho I don't know if Nintendo should make it's screen more than 480ish (depending on what they need for downscaling graphics...)
