Forums - Nintendo - I predict NX will have full 480p on Handheld and Full 1080p60fps on Home Console.

You know how Nintendo is when it comes to hardware on their platforms. Sure they'll give us a good powerful console but NOTHING stunning like 4K or anything. I predict the Handheld version of NX will only have 480p on a 5-ish inch screen. Sure the Wii U gamepad had 480p too but the screen was bigger. Nintendo will be lazy and just keep the 480p and add the same resolution on a slightly smaller screen to improve the PPi. The Home console NX will just improve where the PS4 left off and have ALL games run at 1080p 60fps. No 1080p 30fps, no 720p 60fps, FULL 1080p 60fps !!. Do you agree with me?

IF Nintendo decides to make an HD handheld it's only going to be 720p, that's all, no more than that!

Probably not, no. I don't think Nintendo hits the 1080p/60fps mark as a standard. I don't think the NX home will be as powerful as even the X1.

1080p on home console, 540p on handheld. the easiest resolution subsampling. just to make it simple, considering the development of the same games would be for both handheld and home console.

I agree with your speculation on the NX's console capabilities because I think Nintendo is perceptive enough to know that everyone from the media to Nintendo fans to gamers in general are going to look at the power of Nintendo's next console before anything else. If it's strong enough, it will assure people that Nintendo is trying to create a platform for core gamers like they keep on insisting they are doing. If it's weak, I'm betting people are going to quickly disregard it as another casual console regardless of its launch titles.

As for the handheld, it's hard to say.

Can you even get 480p screens anymore? lol, Nintendo may actually have to pay more for something that shitty. I'm not even joking.

PS vita is 960 × 544.
A new handheld better have atleast 480p.

I mean jesus... mobile phones resolutions are much higher than that.

You dont want to end up with a new handheld thats weaker than the avg smart phone.

Kinda hope the new handheld from nintendo atleast matches the vitas screen resolution of x544.

Even my grandma's phone has a 720p screen... When those cheap Chinese android phones have 720p and up surely Nintendo can do that too..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

480p is an odd resolution for a handheld devices. There are probably few manufacturers making screens at that pixel density. qHD + seems to be what NIntendo will go for.

Knowing Nintendo, I'll honestly be surprised if their screens are better than 480p.
