Did I state that? No. But what I said was truth, the Wii had awful software sales, and hit a wall years before the other 7th gen consoles did. Yes, it sold the most in terms of hardware, no one is denying it. But its a win that's a loss (if you get what I mean).

Wii sold nearly 900 million units of software, that's certainly not "awful". And it was never meant to last as long as the PS3 and 360; Nintendo shot for a 5-6 year lifespan like they always do with home consoles, while Sony and Microsoft needed to drag out the PS3/360 as long as possible to make up for the money they lost early in the generation.

It's not a loss any more than the PSP is a loss because of the Vita's failure, or the DS/PS2 are losses because their successors steeply declined. The Wii didn't kill the Wii U. Wii U managed that all by itself.

I have no idea what this thread is about. Is it against list wars, or against people who don't buy enough games or against companies who only make sequels for their most popular franchises instead of new IPs? Because these 3 things have nothing to do with eachother.

and you can add that this thread is against sony, because the playstation 4 is winning so hard (from the op). I bet he wanted to write "Ok sony, fans. Put up or shut up" but decided to not do that, he....he evolves! he is getting better at making threads.

I do buy the games I'm interested in. Unfortunately, many of 'em do not sell above 200k in the West, if that. That's just the nature of it. I can't change what people buy (nor would I want to), though I certainly would like to see the franchises (and would be franchises) that I do support become successful if they can so I can see more of it made (or localized). I can only do my part.

Very sad but so true ! I like so many niche title like nobunaga, rottk, but they not sell well around, i even have buy last nobunaga on pc + ps4 to support more from koei !

They need to sell a certain amount of units to justify a sequel or else the sequel will never happen. Look at Sunset Overdrive and Bayonetta s. Great games that won't get a sequel more than likely.

How do you know? Both Bayonetta 2 and Sunset Overdrive aren't that old that that sequels are long overdue. Very bad examples.

I usually buy the games I'm interested in, but I'm not that financially stable. Sometimes, I can't buy the games I want to sell well.

I would actually say that when Sony releases great new exclusives they do very well. Whereas Nintendo and Xbox exclusives only do really well with new IP when that game is within the respective platform's comfort zone. Go outside the comfort zone (Bayo2 / Sunset Overdrive) and a game will struggle.

See, here I would disagree. Puppeteer on PS3 was a very good game, but it flopped. Tearaway and Gravity Rush on Vita didn't do so hot either.

Puppeteer is a very niche game which should not be expected to do well. Tearaway and gravity rush are portable remasters which tend to not do well. However it will be interesting to see how GR2 does.

Every good game isn't going to succeed it never happens that every good bit of entertainment succeeds in any format, music, movies, TV shows etc. So the question is whether PS has a better hit rate across various genres than Nintendo and Xbox. It seems to me that Nintendo has a good hit rate across a narrow type of game, and so does Xbox. when the games hit those platform's comfort zones they do very well. With PS there's not much of a comfort zone so there are no virtually guaranteed hits, but there is a good chance of success no matter what style of game.
