Forums - General - 2016 will be a horrible year

Do you think 2016 will suck!

Yep! We're all doomed! 11 14.47%

Kind of. Not quite sure. 14 18.42%

Nope, we're all fine 29 38.16%

HOW IS TRUMP STILL IN THE LEAD? 22 28.95%

Yes, I know many of you will say I'm being pessimistic. However, let's all be realistic with ourselves.

2015 was a horrible year, and much of it seems to be going further. Here are some reasons for why I will hate 2016(and probably not want to live anymore. However, that doesn't matter).

1) Presidential race, and the horrendous Trump

If you don't live in America, then you should know that the nominees for who will represent each respective party is next year( i believe it's in February). This is not good. Most of the candidates are not good. Usually, people think I'm a liberal Bernie-lover when I make hate comments towards Trump. On the contrary, both the Democrat and Republican party is filled with loons! For Republicans, ted Cruz, Donald Trump, and Ben Carson are leading the party! For Democrats, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are leading their party!

These people are the  opposite of what a president should be. Ted Cruz is just an idiot who wants to spread more christianity, Donald Trump is a good businessman, but a horrible politician. ben Carson was an amazing neurosurgeont, but he doesn't have a clue on what a president should be.

bernie Sanders has no clue on how economics works, and Hillary Clinton is a horrible leader! The only supporters she has is the feminists who want a woman president!

2)  Butthurt people

All I heard in 2015 were the words sexist, racist, offensive, and anti-semitic. My god do people misinterpret your words. You can mention black people and you'll hear someone crying "that's racist! What about white people?".

it's as though they always need a cheap cop-out for any good arguments I make against them. They always use an ad hominem or tu quoque argument to avoid actual criticism towards them. Here's an example:

Me: I think black people shouldn't be hateful towards whites. The BLM community should address that issue if they're all for equality.

BLM supporter: YEA? WELL, WHITE PEOPLE SLAVED US FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS. WE'VE BEEN SUFFERING FOR SO LONG.

Me: Did I f****** mention white people? NO! In fact, that being a reason for you shows that you're nothing more than a hypocritical person that only wants revenge, not equality

BLM supporter: uh...Well, stop being racist towards me! No need to hide that you hate minorities.

3) Stupid challenges

If you don't remember, one of the popular challenges this year was the Kylie Jenner lip challenge. Know what else was popular? Cut for Zayn, where people harmed themselves because Zayn Malik left 1D.

I'm honestly very concerned for people. It seems as though this generation is so mentally challenged to the point where they will hurt themselves and waste things just for a stupid trend on social media.

I'm betting that people will do a challenge where they shoot their friends for "paralyzed people". it'll "raise awareness for people shot. Therefore, we'll shoot ourselves for them!". (cough cough, I won't be surprised if more challenges end up being harmful)

4) (Sports related) No more Kobe Bryant(and others)

If you don't know, Kobe Bryant's last season is this year. This means that we're losing him. After 2 decades of the Black Mamba ruining many team's hopes and dreams, we're going to lose another lakers legend.

Also, many other veterans may potentially leave. manu Ginobili, Tim Duncan, KG(Kevin Garnett), Tayshaun Prince, Paul Pierce, and many more can possibly leave the NBA after this season.

At least Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry have drastically improved from the 2013-2014 season.

5) More stupidity

It's as though 'Murica cannot learn what facts are. We are STILL arguing on whether global warming and evolution is real! Yes outside world, America still hasn't solved that for some reason! In fact, many people on the board of education for many states are creationists! They still think evolution is a myth debunked because of the Baybul(Bible if you don't speak gibberish). You should see Bill Nye facepalming when debating idiots such as Faux News anchormen/women and Ken Ham. Never thought constantly updated evidence is inferior to a 6,000 year old book.

6) ISIS

(This post has been reviewed by the FBI) It's quite obvious. Allahu Akbar, kaboom, blood, dead people, screaming, war on terror. We've seen a lot of it this year.

7) Much more

Think I'm being negative? Well that's alright! I'll stand corrected as people complain about how STUPID humans can be!

(I'm betting on 5 ISIS attacks to reach the news from this day to the selection of the presidents to represent. Just watch)

Enjoy the last precious moments of 2015, and prepare for impact as you crashland in 2016!

Cheers,

~Layton

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Always love to start my new year being positive, thanks.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

The Trump and ISIS situation is quite concernig and Kobe Bryant leaving is flat out sad, but as you said the nba has great young talent going foward

Yeahhhhh but, Zelda Wii U so it's all good.

Happy New Year!

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Yes, there will always be bad things as time moves on, but for now, I think it's better to focus on the positive aspects of the new year, even if there aren't many.

Happy New Year!

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I guess that depends on what you focus on.

1. Newsflash: The president in the US isn't the sole leader of the country. The president hardly matters as much as many make him/her out to be. That's not to say the president has no power, but get real people. No president will make the situation in the US substantially better OR worse.

2. Butthurt people: Ignore them! How hard can it be?

3. Stupid challenges: Umm what? Ignore this too! Not hard!

4. Sports: Athletes come and go. Bu-hu.

5. More stupidity: Loud mouthed minority. Ignore and move on! Alternatively enjoy the show and laugh if that gives you kicks.

6. Yes. ISIS sucks, I'll give you this point. And I don't think we're helping to curb the recruitment of terrorists by bombing civilians (yeah, civilians get hit. That's a fact). It might help short term, it will only make people desise western society long term. Bravo, people.

7. Much more, probably, and a bunch of good stuff will happen too.

Is there nothing positive going on in your life? Focus on that, don't let small nuisances (with the exception of the ISIS thing, that's kinda a big deal) get you down.

Happy new year!

None of these things directly affect my life or most peoples life in any significant way. With Zelda wii u and maybe a new Nintendo home console makes 2016 an exciting year for me.

One of the things I'm scared for is probably going to be more mass shootings. This is a serious problem happening now, that I don't think we have an answer to and will only get worse.

I'm surprised not even one of those points mentioned nothing about 353 shootings in 336 days or something like that. That's probably a bigger issue than all of your points combined (For America anyways).

Other than that, you should maybe start focusing on more positive things instead of all negative lol.
