We dont... Kinda. If nothing happens in 3 days then its April. Its lookin like its definitely April thouhh, It same day as the Anniversary Kickoff event. Then not to Mention March/Aprill is usually Sonic reveal season
I think i would actually be ok with it if they rebooted the Series, but went at a faster pace. As in, a 2D game, with story in the veign of the comics with Tails and Knuckles appearing and maybe beeing playable aswell.

The only condition that would make me agree with a full reboot is to eliminate the many "Sonic categories";Classic, Adventure,Boost. Everything and everyone umbrellad under one Sonic. Sonic doesnt need mythos reboot though, We have Classic trilogy and then Adventure and even they're both canon they're independent of each other. A new game design reboot that they will expand on each game and a new Adventure era successor Arc wont be just fine.

..because I commonly see dates as YYYY/MM/DD or DD/MM/YYYY... in numeric format
and writing it as January 4, 2016 rather than MM/DD/YYYY so who knows? :p
But I guess it would make more sense if it was in April though
