So you would have bought a ps4 if it was the other way around just to play Tomb Raider early? I don't think so, you would have probably waited for the pc version instead because if I remember correctly, SE announced the ps4/pc version before the xb1 version released.  Anyway, ps4 owners gonna have options now with the PC version.  In the same way you have a xb1/pc combo, there are ps owners that also play games on PC so if they really want to play the game that badly, the game will be out in less than a month.

that some ps4 owners decided to not buy a xb1 just to play one game 1 year before is SE fault for announcing that the game is coming to ps4 before it launched.  If anything, SE sabotaged the game on xb1.  Maybe the sales would have been better if SE announced the ps4 version a few months later after the xb1 version release

I already own a PS4 and i dont restrict myself and boycott games because of a deal like half the fanboy base is saying on the net. Dont act like you dont hear/read gamers say i wont be buying TR because of MS and SE. I read comments like them all the time. Will see if the players put there money where there mouth is. Iv played TR, i couldnt care what platform i brought it on, i went X1 because it was availble on it first. Smart move by MS because i would have brought it on PC otherwise like i did with the Reboot, deals like that happen. In my opinion if you like Uncharted and TLOU then this game is a no brainer. I found the Reboot better then Uncharted 3 and the sequal is just as good as TLOU but thats just me.

Its a great game that should be recongsized for its qulaity not its sales. DOesnt seem like gamers care so much for qulaity anymore just resolution and sales. The gaming community has fallen into a new low and iv been there from the very beginning.

All i am reading now is ill buy the game in the bargain bin.. lol wtf? Honestly kids. ill guess ill buy UC4 when its in the bargain bin too. Thats how stupid most of the people in this thread sound. Its a bloody game, you buy it for your own pleasure not for someone elses.

People are not buying it, because its not on the platform they own (and even XBO users are not buying it in large numbers). Thats not the players fault... not sure why you are finding that so difficult to comprehend.

You are also assuming that those that only own one platform or play on one platform can afford to buy another. I can but I wont buy a game series that I wasnt that attached to and buy a console for it. Why is that so difficult to understand? A XBO isnt worth buying for this game for me (and it seems most people). If it had been Fallout 4, I might have done something diffierent, but it wasnt. It is a "Not bad" franchise in my eyes, I would have probably purchased it day 1 on PS4 had it been available. I'm not buying a console that is not as good as the PS4 and will only see probably 3 games on it in it's lifetime that I want to play, especially as I know at some point TR will come out on PS4... I have tons of games I can wait.

Stop with this "Not real gamers" and "Kids"..crap as well.... people are entitled to buy or not buy whatever they want... If you want to go buy UC4 when it's in the bargin bin, then do it, some people will, who gives a crap. Why are you so bothered that people dont want to buy a game for a platform they dont own, or a game that perhaps they are no that fussed about.

You'll also note, no one has said the game is crap... it has been recognised as a good game by reviewers and metacritic... what more do you want? People who are not playing it dont need to do anything. People are saying the sales are crap *BECAUSE* MS and SE screwed up, no one said the game was crap.

So to conclude, stop calling people childish names because they are not happy with what most people consider a stupid deal. If I am one of the so called "None gamers" I am happy to tell you whats in my game library with you to prove that you are talking out of your arse and just throwing insults around at people you know nothing about.

Logic from Azzanation:

"People not buying the game for Xbox One and PC are kids and hater"

Me: Maybe they just wait for next year to grab it on PS4 (hey why did you not include the ps4)?

"....those are just hater and kids"

Me: OK....sigh

Edit: Uncharted 4 will be exclusive to PS4

Brilliant game indeed. Sales would have been great if not for the stupid exclusivity deal

Didn't like TR2013, so I will probably skip it. I was curious about the great reviews so I watched some let's plays, and it didn't change my mind. It doesn't look like TR to me (exploration, puzzle-platforming), instead it looks like the usual QTE setpiece title that is for the most part an on-rails experience. And there's nothing about it that stands out to me, so it's a pass.

Unfortunately I can see Crackdown 3 doing poorly as well... it's one of those "Forum" games where people shout it loudly, but when push comes to shove, it wont sell very well at all..., I've got my fingers crossed for Quantumn break, because I really like Remedy as a studio, but after Alan Wakes sales (and it was a great game)... I really dont hold out much hope.

As you say, for all the "best games" lists and comparisons, it doesnt matter if no one goes out and actually buys the games... and thats I think what people are trying to say about Tomb Raider. I keep seeing people claiming it's not CD fault, or that its game of the generation, or it's the best game this year...so people should buy it one way or another... but if you are going to prevent a bigger and probably more supportive community of TR from getting the game, then it's certainly not the fault of PS4 users.

I may get hassle for saying this, but I've always considered the people who buy Sony consoles to be a little more generous with their gaming money and dont mind trying something different, while MS users not so much.

You may be right. Especially this gen.  With the original Xbox, I have no experience so I can't speak.  With the 360, at least for the first several years, Xbox players spent tons of money on diverse software libraries.  With the Xbox One, people don't seem to want to support anything but a few select franchises.  The attach rate seems to be way down.  That's how it feels, at least.

Well, that's partly because a lot of playstation 2 owners went with xbox360 since it was the first to release and pretty much outperformed ps3 in every way. If you recall, it wasn't like xbox OG sold a lot of diverse software. It was mainly their core franchises that did really well. Because of the entry cost of ps3 and the functional differences, a whole group of different gamers went to xbox, which expanded their demographic taste. This was further reinforced by the wave of people "jumping in" when kinect released.

But now, that situation is again reversed, and the migrants have returned to playstation.

THIS.

The VideoGame panorama returned to normal this generation. Playstation on top and the competition battling for a second place. Last gen was a weird situation since the beginning and 7th gen is not a fan favorite as a whole among the people.

If you make a poll asking about the best games in each gen, people will divide between the 5th and the 6th gen. What do they have in common? A Playstation console ruling the market.

People will say that it is bullshit but when a Playstation console is on top, the market is healthier and the games are just better and more diverse.

Look at the resurgence of the JRPG genre thanks to the Ps4, and this is just one example.

I agree, if your a true gamer is referring to all gamers. I find it funny that all the talk about list wars and console wars are all based off childish console fans. They are simply the worst. There are games on all consoles that struggle to sell, yet we see games like Knack sell 1.4m copies and Tomb Raider sell 500k. All in all TR will continue to sell and probably hit 1.5m after its finished on the store shelves not including digital.

The main problem with XB1 game sales is that there are just too many great games to buy, even HAlo is behind the 8 ball, this is a great thing for a great console. If the console had little to no games to buy then TR would probably great records. Fans dont see it this way, they just see it as "Xbox gamers dont buy games"

I am a PC gamer from top to bottom and i brought TR on XB1 because its a great game, i coudlnt care how much better it would look on my PC. I support great games regardless of platform.

The difference between a PC gamer and a Console gamer.

A PC gamer will buy TR and support the great game that it is.

A PS gamer will ignore TR because of a corparate deal.

^ That explains the industry. As the sayings go, Nice guys finish last, lets add Good games dont sell.

What the hell are you talking about?

1. The Xbox One just has too many great games? Where is the evidence of that? The Xbox Ones attatchment rate is no better than the PS4s, there are less games overall, and it's average review score is lower both for third party games, and exclusives.

2. TR didn't sell well for two main reasons. First, most of the people who buy TR games don't own an Xbox One. Second, It came out on the same day as Fallout 4 and I don't care how good of a game it is, if you make gamers choose between a new TR and a new Fallout, TR is going to get eaten every time.

The point about PC vs. Console gamers is just nonsense and there is no evidence to back up any of the points you've made.

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

bolded: of course I have read this but I also read a lot when xbox gamers put the game in their list war and still, they didn't put the money where their mouth is.  it goes both ways.  what you have to understand is that not everybody can justify buying another console just to have access to the game early, it might not make much sense for some gamers like me that are multiplatform gamers first and foremost and since I have a ps4, it's hard to justify a xb1 for just one game because I'm not into halo and this is coming from someone that had a xb360 last gen.  It might change next year but it is going to depend if scalebound and quantum break release next year.  For me, those are fresh and new ip that makes xb1 more appealing to me than the other franchises.

So you think those using TR as a list war debate dont own the game? I am very positive those defending TR actually own it. The game has sold over 500k not including digital. Your acting like the game didnt sell at all. I own the game and i am using TR as a list war debate because it is only available on XB1 which means it is a exclusive until its on another none Xbox system.

And there are tons of games on XB1 that are worth buying one for, TR is just the cream on top. I am saying this as a major PC gamer. I do own all the console and i prefer to play my games on PC but even i can recommand a XB1 because there are some great gems exclusive to it.
