Forums - Gaming - Now that Minecraft has done amazing on the Wii U for Microsoft, will they and other companies start porting more exclusives over to other systems?

Ah no wii u owners wouldn't buy Halo 5 or Bloodbourne, Minecraft is as casual as it gets, tis why its successful on Wii U.

It's funny because 7 of the top 10 best selling PS4 games are games which can be easily be enjoyed by casual gamers.

I wouldn't rule out that MS might consider other games for WiiU/3DS some I don't think they view them as their primary competitor.

My original comment was simple to understand was it not, games like Halo5/BB aren't going to sell tons on WiiU, minecraft is coz its a casual game that assessable by everyone and sells tons on every console.

Don't worry, I understood perfectly what you wanted to say.

Hypothetically if Sony/MS did decide to put games on WiiU, then what games? A collaboration between NN/MS for a RareReplay type collection would be great, What could Sony realistically put on Wii U that would sell alot? One of theyre platformers? I could see something like Ratchet or Sly beeing moderately successful.

I don't think that will happen, but I would be all over a Wii U Sly Cooper game. Stealth games (or any game with a slower pace, really) are a perfect match for the Gamepad. There are a ton of cool things that could be done with it in a game like that.

The floodgates are now open. Solitaire, Minesweeper, Hearts, Wordament, here we come!

It's cute that people still buy into this whole "casual vs hardcore" marketing gimmick about Nintendo.

Especially when Xenoblade X is doing as well as it is.

Im not sure about the initial sales, but right now Xenoblade X is at #242 on the Amazon Top Seller List. I dont believe the game is doing "well" right now.

Also, i agree with Versus_Evil in the sense that Nintendo fans tend to like more the "E Rated" style of most Nintendo games. Look at the Top 10 of Amazon:

1) Super Mario Maker (Rated E)

2) Super Smash Bros (Rated E)

3) Just Dance 2016 (Rated E)

4) Mario Kart 8 (Rated E)

5) Yoshis Wooly World (Rated E)

6) Amiibo Festival (Rated E)

7) Lego Dimension (Rated E)

8) Super Mario 3D World (Rated E)

9) Splatoon (Rated E)

10) Xenoblade X (Rated T)

There is no place for Bloodborne/Halo 5 type of games on Nintendo systems.

"...will they and other companies start porting more exclusives over to other systems?"

Bad example because Minecraft isn't exclusive to any platform at all.

This exactly.  No need to really come to any other conclusion

Splatoon is very close on the list to XCX, following that logic it must be doing terrible, yet we know is doing very well and way better than almost every game on that wiiu list, however is just 9th on Amazon wich is highly contradictory with reality.

And btw, I may have to remeber you that a lot of mature games have been on Nintendo systems before: Eternal Darkness, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark and Resident Evil 4 are some of the best exemples. None of them were flops. Even with Bayonetta 2, if the game is around half milion sold (is probably more) it has actually a bigger attach ratting than Bloodborne on Ps4, 5 times bigger.
