That is wrong analogy because I never liked any of Kojima's games unlike Jaffe'z.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

88.52% and 86.44%. Not as high but definitely highly rated games. And TM2 sold 1.74M in the US alone.
I'm sorry but if Kojima and a "big budget" game that stared Sam Jacks.... I promise you it would be a multi-million seller.
