Like his take on war and goverment control. I watched Beasts Of No Nation recently and couldn't help being reminded of Raiden. When you mean detail, do you mean cool stuff you sometimes do during gameplay, like exploding cockroaches during PS2 and immediately going first person views to see them stuck in your googles, kind of detail? Or story detail? |
His games have ridiculous small details. The codec conversion have some hilarious stuff in the MGS series. Kerotans in MGS3. All the other little figures throughout the series. There's a PS1 in Otacon's lab in MGS1, and AFAIK it was replaced with a Gamecube in the Gamecube remake. And those fire extinguishers in MGS2... They weren't very practical to use in most situations (because you could only shoot them and they'd spray their stuff, disturbing enemies for a moment), but they were functional and a nice little detail. There's just so much little stuff and easter eggs. Really, his attention to detail shows in a lot of places.
