Yes to a new Metroid, no to Platinum doing it, that should be Retro Studio's job.

Other M had other faults that deterred from the enjoyment of the game too.  

  • Auto-aim
  • first-person missiles
  • pixel hunt scenes
  • easy to master combat once you learned how to dodge
  • unimaginative art style
  • and boring music.  

The production values were really good with most things though, including the CGI cut scenes.  But the game had other shortcomings besides the story presentation or characterization of Samus.

Not to mention D-Pad movement, invisible walls galore, a shitty health system, sequences where you were locked into walking, an awkward non-adjustable camera...

I still can't believe how shite that game turned out.

No. I love Platinum, but I wouldn't want them making a Metroid game.

Platinum Games titles despite being very enjoyable have a very distinct template and I don't want that template applied to Metroid.

Definitely not a Metroid game from Platinum, but I actually wouldn't mind seeing the 2 franchises cross over together how they revealed Bayonetta for SmashBros. Kids Icarus and Bayonetta as a crossover could work very well together. Both franchises have over the top set pieces, big bosses and the whole angels, God's and goddess theme to them to make excellent action gaming.
