They also dropped the price to $21.95 and it was sold for as low as $9.95 for a time. Were the majority of the sales before or after they slashed the price by nearly 50% (as it was 39.95 to begin with)?

Probably though I can't be 100% sure, but it was the same for the previous games. TTYD becoming a Player's Choice and SPM becoming a Nintendo Select, selling for the same $20. I'm sure they had further limited time deals aswell, if not through Nintendo then by retailers.

Sticker Star's price dropped dramatically within a few months, though. By summer of 2013, it was already $21.95, which is unusual for a Nintendo game. By the holidays of 2013, Gamestop (and a few other retailers) was selling it for $9.95 and the price went back up to $21.95 MSRP afterwards. Super Paper Mario took five years to reach $29.99/$19.99 for Nintendo Selects. Ah well.

Oh really? I thought that wasn't until last year that it became $20. Eh, I'ma still be skeptical, it's safer that way. If Paper Mario 5 is a dud, I wont be that surprised nor disappointed.

Well, Mario and Luigi games are nothing alike Sticker Star. I plan to buy this, since the gameplays I saw on YT were great to me, and I really enjoyed Dream Team (despite the long tutorials).

M&L has also gotten incredibly stale for me. That Dream Team tutorial was the biggest amount of BS I've ever played. I remember falling asleep twice and taking over 5 hours just to be done with it, way too much hand holding.

Wait what? The tutorial is 5 hours long o.O

Probably not, but it took me that long to beat it. Fell alseep twice, watched videos to get out of playing the game, etc.

Just overall the worst tutorial system I've ever experienced due to the extreme hand holding.

Honestly, yeah, the tutorials are the worst thing of Dream Team by miles. Overly long and painfully boring. If you're capable of holding on until it's over, then the game is very good.

I don't see why they would make another SS-like game, considering that game's reception. I really hope they've learned a lesson.

Well it's the second best selling Paper Mario game, second only to SPM, that's why I'm worried.

True, but TTYD sold slightly worse than SS despite being released on the GC ( 1.91m vs 2.21m) and Ninty does listen to some fan feedback. Zelda U will have, for example, less hand holding because players complained about it in Skyward Sword. Smash 4 is also a bit more hardcore than Brawl, because players complained about Brawl being too sluggish. That's why I'm a bit optimistic.
