It makes no difference. That's my point. People are complaining about plotholes in the new movie but not the originals. 

Luke and Obi Wan spent very little time together   Basically all he taught him is what the force is, not really what it could do. Rey on the other hand probably heard stories of what happened and what the Jedi and sith did with their powers. If that's the case she knew more  what was possible than Luke did.  Han said " it's true,all of it"  so if she was really force sensitive all she needed was the motivation to try and use what she had heard about OR she had prior training when she was young.

Why can't she just be a force sensitive person Luke was at one point training? You know like they used to do by taking orphen's or something.

It seems that Rey is just another Bayonetta/Lara Croft type of character. One that can do no wrong.

Just watched it and I liked it quite a lot. It wasn't very original and I wish they had explained the different factions a bit more but it's a worthy successor to the original trilogy that's for sure. Much, much better than any of the prequels.
I really didn't like Finn though, to the point where part of the hoped that Ren had killed him. Rey on the other hand was awsome. I expect her to become one of my favourite Star Wars characters.

Just finished watching it. The move was great. Solid 8/10 for me, and a HUGE improvement over the garbage prequels. Holy crap, those movies were terrible. It's interesting to see that you rank ROTS over ROTJ, when ROTS was terrible.

This is a competent film. It has interesting shots and feels like a world with some interesting settings and a simple story to bring you back. Anyone who thinks this is is less than the prequels watches films differently than I do.

It had issues, but it felt like they tried and had some passion. They had a lot of baggage and challenges, but overall I can accept it as the first 1/3 of a story.

I will say I was so pumped for Captain Phasma, and she does nothing in this! Come on!

Again, overall, I was fine with it. I don't think anything will match how I felt about original trilogy at this point.

We get told it was the planet where princess Leia was born and where the rebellion started. Its more than "random planets get blown up".

Though first movie vs seventh. It isnt a new franchise.

Actually the planet that blew up in this one was way more expanded upon. It was the city jar jar lived in, where the senate was. Coruscant. We've seen 3 movies about this planet already.
