It makes no difference. That's my point. People are complaining about plotholes in the new movie but not the originals.
Luke and Obi Wan spent very little time together Basically all he taught him is what the force is, not really what it could do. Rey on the other hand probably heard stories of what happened and what the Jedi and sith did with their powers. If that's the case she knew more what was possible than Luke did. Han said " it's true,all of it" so if she was really force sensitive all she needed was the motivation to try and use what she had heard about OR she had prior training when she was young.
