A bad game getting bad reviews is not a tragedy. The massacre in paris was a tragedy, so I think we need to put things in perspective.

The only tragedy is Nintendo pulling a Daikatana and thinking that big name Dev+money=quality. They're lucky the game is still in the "so bad it's good" for a small fan base and completely go to utter crap like Daikatana did.
Also, if you enjoy the game that's fine. But you need to recognize that that which is enjoyable is not necessarily of high quality. Heck, I got a kick out of the movie Shoot 'em Up but that thing is a terrible film.

This, the game won't even be a footnote in a decade, it'll be lucky if anyone even remembers it exists by the start of the new year. |
It want be even one of the top 100 biggest gaming tragedies of the past decade not top 5. I relly dont understand OP, it doesn't makes any sense.
oh come on, devil third is a game published by nintendo, that's all. I would have felt you if a mainline smash or mario kart or any other high profile franchise released with a bad metascore or with horrible frame rate.
Tragedy ? It's just one of the many duds that Nintendo releases ...
A tragedy would be something along the lines of loosing a long time publisher like THQ ...
Meh, it's just Devil's Third.. I wouldn;t consider that a tragedy!

Do you pretty much agree? There could easily be a top ten, but these pulled at my heart strings. |
That pulled at your heart strings? Interesting....

So if you don't like a game that I like, that makes you a liar? Hm. Interesting.

What I would consider the top five gaming 'tragedies' of the last decade....
1. Final Fantasy 13 existing, and then clouding the room with farts and sequels.
2. Silent Hill going through such a terrible period, and just as it's about to resurface with a new creative team... Konami collectively starts acting like a bitch.
3. Mascot abuse. Mega Man was stuck on third shift and mostly forgotten. Sonic has increasingly outlandish makeup plastered on his face and put on seedy street corners. Spyro is stuck in a toy game ghetto. Crash has been so buried that he may not even surface for his 20th anniversary. Samus went from silent armored-up badass to an annoying hot thing in blue plastic wrap.
4. The death of mid-tier game development. Now it's AAA or indie, very little in-between.
5. The PC & mobile-ification of console gaming. Patches ("we can tweak games post-launch" became "we can release broken bullshit!"), DLC ("we can do expansions on consoles!" became "we can lock an sell on-disk content day one!"), and Microtransactions (...I got nothing here, this was always garbage; we used to unlock cosmetics, not pay for them).
Not really, there has been a lot of games that have done poorly in the past decade...
Bayonetta 2 selling poorly is probably worse that Devil's Third reception imo
