Forums - Sony - Former Xbox One Exclusive Psycho-Pass Announced for PS4/PS Vita

5pb. announced today that the former Xbox One exclusive Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness will be released in Japan for PS4 and PlayStation Vita.

According to the press release from the publisher, the game will hit Sony’s consoles in the archipelago of the rising sun next spring, with no specific release date announced yet.

The Xbox One version of the game, supervised by former Cave Producer Makoto Asada, was launched in May 2015. It’s based on the popular anime Psycho-Pass, and The scenario writer is the same as the anime series, Gen Urobuchi.

For those unfamiliar, the anime and the game are set in a dystopian future where the omnipresent authorities continuously scan the “psycho pass” of the citizens, able to predict those who will commit crime, and preemptively incarcerate or even terminate them.

For the moment there’s no information on possible bonuses or additional content included in the game’s re-release on the new platforms.

This isn’t the first time that a former Xbox One exclusive by 5pb is announced for PlayStation consoles. Chaos;Child also made the jump earlier this year, probably due to the low sales on Microsoft’s platform, that doesn’t have a large installed base in Japan.

Yes, this is why install base is so important, although Spencer would have us believe it's all about money.

Just like with RoTR. The fanbase will decline. This franchise is dead.

Awesome! It was THE game I wanted on Xbox One, and never understood its exclusivity... Let's hope for an english version.

Wait.... Chaos;Child? ";"? Like in the other ";" games? Didn't know about that one, on my list now!

I doubt it. What is this game? Seems pretty niche, I doubt the fans of the anime care if it came to another console first.
