Forums - Sales - Until Dawn and Bayonetta 2 LTD Sales in the US

So, anyone has the NPD numbers of the first Bayonetta ?

Around the Network

What interests me is that Bayonetta was voted into Smash largely by Europe - along with a strong top 5 in the ballot in NA.

But if we look at the sales - VGC has Bayo 2 tracked at 500k for NA and only about 200k for Europe. So regardless of what overall total VGC has the title tracked at sales-wise, the Europe sales ought to be stronger than the NA.

The way I see it..

180k in US, an extra 40k in Canada and elsewhere across the Americas. Then based on Smash ballot win, the IP is nearly 2x as strong in Europe - so another 400k. When you add Japan and other regions, you're up to 700-800k. Not the best tracking - but not terrible either

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Do we have any official word on it's European and Japanese sales?

We do have this, which would mean that Bayo 2 is very undertracked in France. I wouldn't be surprised if the same would apply for the rest of Europe.

Someone in the same thread said that after 19 months (Bayonetta 2 is 14 months) the first Bayonetta did 150k on the PS3 and 200k on the 360. Bayonetta 2 has digital sales though.

Not bad for Bayo2, then.

It's just sad to see Bayonetta's sales and yet many FPS games sold million copies even if the game lack contents... This is the reason why SEGA didn't want to fund the game in the first place, no matter how good the game is, if it brings no profit to the company then we can just forget getting the sequel in the future. I am not sure if Nintendo and PG (Mainly Nintendo since they funded the project) made any profit from selling the game so far (I hope they do).

Anyway, it's good to see Until Dawn doing well :)

Guys, NORTH AMERICA =/= USA, please understand.

You say that like your wishful thinking is certain. Don't forget the 150% digital sales so that is more than 2 million copies already with the legs of nintendo games is see that game by 4 million in the end and bayonetta 3 for nx can easily be a 10 million seller.

Oh, it didn't do that bad after all.

It's a shame Bayonetta 2 flopped I found it enjoyable enough. Until Dawn was a wonderful experience and it deserves all the sales it got. Especially Europe loves Until Dawn.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
