Forums - Gaming - Head of Crystal Dynamic (Square) no longer part of the studio, Tomb Raider sales a factor in his departure?

More than likely he's just taking the fall and getting a buy out.

Doubt it. His position is one that assists in making those decisions. The Xbox fanbase obviously doesn't support games like Tomb Raider. At the very least, he had the power to stop it.

Yeah but isn't his real boss Square? They're the publishers right? If so, there's no way he would have made this decision on his own. That shit would have had to be cleared and signed off in Japan.

That would suck since the flop of Tomb raider is only Square Enix+Microsoft fault

Maybe this is him taking responsibility for sponsoring the idea to the higher ups.

People left working on Uncharted because it was too popular?

This Tomb Raider sales discussion is getting old. Especially given all the presumptions that are made.

That would be THE plot-twist.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Well, people leave studios/companies to find new things all the time, it's a common thing in business. What really matter is can the new guy delivered ? I hope so.

The situation with Tomb raider is best explained with a example, if you was to create a restaurant in a City and you knew there was only 5 people in that City who was vegetarian but you still decided to build a veggie-dedicated restaurant in hope people would switch over fram Meat to green just like that, you royally fucked yourself in the arse

PSN: Opticstrike90
Steam: opticstrike90

Wow, take your MS check and split eh? Hopefully the PC and PS4 user base can save this game and franchise. Good riddance!

tr sales as a reason is reaching...

he wants something different. end of story.

You have to admit that the timing is strange, at best. The game bombs hard, and the head of the studio leaves barely a few weeks after the charts?

It's like saying "Don Mattrick always dreamed about Zynga and decided to leave MS". Maybe he took the final decision, but with a gun pointed at him...
