I think its wrong there has to be so much hate to towards it. but tbh im very very suprised undertale will beat OOT. I know this is probably not a general opinion of what gamers think. but its quite amazing somehow. even though i think Undertale is a bit too overrated and too similiar to pokemon and earthbound.

Honestly, this whole gamefaqs situation is borderline depressing. It shows how deeply enveloped in their own opinions many people are, and how desperately they need those opinions validated by others and token victories.

It's one thing to take an interest and want to see games you like do well, but people are getting themselves into frothing rages over what is ultimately just a casually executed online poll, and one that's results are more indicative of popularity and present fandom enthusiasm than actual quality.

I honestly don't know why would anyone even visit GameFaqs.. Most of its posters act like they aren't old enough to drink a damn beer!

I honestly think Undertale is one of the best games ever made. It saddens me to see that "hate-wave", but it's something very common when something becomes popular. And, well, it's the internet, and we all know it's full of haters and trolls.

But seriously, I can imagine it is jarring for those involved in the decades long argument for GOAT to watch their beloved franchises fall to a game that has been out for 3 months.

I can't believe that some people, no matter on which forum on the internet, has to resort to ballot stuffing to make something win, like a game this time. What's the point for it, especially on a site like Gamefaqs? Will that game be declared the best of the best by every PM in the world? Will everyone be forced to buy it even if they don't like it? Will it be named Game of the Century or Game of All Time? No? Well, why the hell are people taking these votes seriously?

I can't wait for 15 years to pass so everyone who ballot stuffed remember how bad this was, so they feel embarrassed for taking part of it.

Undertale is most likely going to win since OoT won the last one

All the hate that stems from that poll isn't much different from the vs threads we get on here, sure that place can be a cesspool from time to time but honestly for years now we've had plenty of sites with enough people going back and forth trying to validate their opinions through meaningless token victories. Brony's tried this back in 2010/2011 when they rigged Hasbro's naughty/nice poll to screw over TF and Batman fans to show that they were the bigger fan base, of course all that did was show how irksome they were but in the end they were also not the only group on the net to rig polls.

I also don't get the hate for UT, people hark on it for it's visuals and yet it does something that many games these days haven't bothered with all that much, which is to say giving you complete pacifist choices to make. Apparently a game being designed by one guy (which is one hell of an achievement compared to most games today) that tries bringing some new and old to the table with a nice story is somehow the worst game in the known universe, I mean just a few posts above mine we have a pointless Bloodborne vs an indie game which serves no purpose other than "I hate this game and universally want it to die and think it's utter tripe", it's completely meaningless to even try throwing such a notion in like that since it;s always going to be a subjective matter in the end regardless.

I like my Mario and Zelda games just as much but I also love what UT brings to the field, I love it's characters, it's stories. I'm not a fan of the battle system but I definitely and absolutely love and praise the fact the game allows you to approach it in a completely pacifist manner, a game where I don't have to kill anyone, where I can befriend them and still reach my goals, to me that is something really quite special and unique, something that other games/devs could actually take inspiration from, I would love to play more games where we can approach our goals without having to always kill this or destroy that.

Screw the haters, Undertale is great and it deserves every award it can get!
