It was legitimately given away free during last year's PlayStation Experience. EA gave out a free game for PS3, Vita, and PS4.

Same thing in Germany.
But when I was in France about 6 months ago there were much more Need for Speed shipments than in Germany (visited a lot gaming stores in France). I was really surprised then. How could this game had a lot shipments in France though I never saw new shipments in Germany? Anyway it made me happy.
