Looks like PS4 will end with around 17.8M consoles sold in 2015 (my personal estimate based on current numbers, should be fairly close even if it's off, above 17M anyway)

In favor, better line up. But I think the deciding factors will be 1) price evolution and 2) release, or not, of a new slim-like model. Multiplats will also have influence. The COD deal will be there, but will there be another one that can sell PS4s in the holidays like SW is doing? Remains to be seen. 

Regardless, if 1 and 2 are done right, I think it could be close to 19M next year, as its peak.

It's gonna sell like crazy next year. not sute if it will be it's peak year yet though, consoles usually sell best when they are under 250$ but ps4 seems to be defying that concept, people were ready for this gen

That statement was sort of destroyed last generation. It has a lot with people adoptive to new technology (which is a good and bad thing). I bet research paper exist on the concept but I don't want to go find it. 

I think 2016 will be the peak year, still a lot of games that haven't released and it's not exactly dirt cheap yet either. Seems like my sales estimates for 2015 were pretty much spot on; there were quite a few users who thought I was ridiculous for suggesting that the PS4 wouldn't sell 20 million units in 2015 CY.

Lower price and a game packed year.. Yeah ps4 will do great.
Sony sold so many ps4s this year with three new ips (order bb ud) and one other title (tearaway) as their exclusives of the year. And uncharted ofcourse.

Well next year is Street fighter, Ratchet, uncharted, last guardian, horizon, persona, and that's less than half of the retail exclusives. Gravity rush two too. And they'll still have cod and likely star wars deals too (amy hernigs star wars)

Neither. I think PS4 peak year will be 2017. With the kinda line up Sony has for 2016 and with Sony likely to permanently keep the price at $300 through 2016 there is still a lot left to do in 2017.

In 2017 I think we will see a PS4 slim and at a $199 price point. that will be the PS4s peak year.

I think 2017 will be. I'm not sure Sony will drop the standard price below 299 next year. So it will get a price cut again in 2017.
