I don't think the problem should be that the game isn't using the gamepad but that they are charging $30 for it. No incentives whatsoever to get the game.

How is the lack of Minecraft's use of the gamepad WiiU's fault? Nintendo can't force anyone to use the gamepad if they don't want to.

Of course they should implement the Gamepad - it's outrageously lazy not to! The feature would be very easy-to-implement, and actually be quite the improvement on the game as it will be released. They should also reduce the price from the extortionate price it's going to release at!

I'm not saying it shouldn't, I'm saying that the real crime is the price. it's $20 elsewhere.
Don't know what to say - well teh game have made them enough money... I guess tehy just want more with little input.....
Switch!!!
I would suspect they wanted to get this game out for the holidays and update it with improvements afterwards. I think that this game will sell well (500k-1m) regardless and actually give the WiiU a decent boost in hardware sales as well.
Feel free to check out my stream on twitch

Sad
This special game could benefit from the gamepad
Now its more like a cashgrab

Every person who really wants to play minecraft could play on a different console for cheaper. It may still sell well on the wii u, but it's not moving any hardware units
