Forums - Gaming - What the hell is going on with the 8th gen?

This is why the remake should never happen in the first. We are getting the PC version and a remake and people still complain. SE should just have not bothered at all. There was always going to be uproar about some aspect of it. Damned if you do, damned if you don't . Every gen it's the same ole story . "Worst gen eva".

We have no idea how the new FF7 remake will turn out. They have made it very clear that each episode will be the size of a full game and offer a complete story. They have also said that the game won't fit into one disc due to size.

If all the above is true then I don't see a reason for complaint, and no one will know for sure until the game is complete. Talking about it like we already know everything about the game is pointless at this stage.

The dlc, MT and season Passes you mention are an issue on some games. There are a few which do it right e.g. DriveClub and Witcher 3.

First we have dlc and season passes announced before the game even comes out. Then we have full $60 multiplayer only games with barebones cotent.

Hmm you mean like Rainbow six Siege or Star Wars Battlefront? Yep, these games made me turn off. HOWEVER i can't blame on publishers/developers. =S

How do you feel about FF VII:R being episodic?

Well... It depends.. I'm ok with that though, it's up to Square Enix.

Until people start voting with their wallets and start saying 'NO', this won't improve. The problem is that people seem to think corporations care about people voicing their opinions on the internet, unfortunately, they don't. The only thing these companies listen to is money, if people stop supporting the practice with their wallet it will soon stop.

Nothing wrong with episodes, I enjoy still waiting for Half-Life 2 episode 3.

Yeah, not buying the game until the whole thing is done which usually means not buying it at all as my interest has gone by the time the series is finished. Same with early access.

I'm guilty of buying DLC though, Burnout paradise island, Wipeout Fury, The last of us Left behind and even a season pass for DriveClub. Those were all great value though.

If its episodes are full games like FF XIII series I'm fine if its more like Telltale i'm disappointed ( even though I like Telltale games)

If the game were to launch on nintendo platforms people would be insulting it for being in episodes.

I confess i don't like it. The only way it makes sense to me is for them to make the world a huge open world and thus getting rid of the world map.

I just ask them this. Is all this really worth it? This is the remake of a game, not a reboot. But alas, i think they are taking it too far. They are focusing so much in making it a modern game that they are getting further and further away from the experience they are supposed to be replicating.

I say, stop making stuff up. Put the world map in there and make it a full game.

We have to pay for online on some consoles too.
