So are you getting Final Fantasy VII Remake?

Day 1 All Episodes 27 32.93%

Will wait for Complete Collection 51 62.20%

Never planned to get it 4 4.88%

Total:82

Split releases for one game? More reason not to buy it new it seems. Original came out on 3 cds, why not 3 blu-rays?

They don't need new sidequests or content, the game is full enough already. Come on it's not like they need to actually make a new game, they have the source material, just copy that and splash some pretty graphics over it, everybody is happy.

Hmm, pie.

I don't know what people have been discussing in detail, but I know there is an uproar over the original story being partitioned into multiple parts; well I have a few things to say to you older gamers like me:

Nostalgia ain’t cheap you hear! If you still get a tingle from watching it and hearing the music score, then screw the price and pay for it because you know you've been wanting it. Now if you don't have the money, then I'm sorry for you. Just don't buy every freaking game PS4 makes, just the ones that matter to you.

So a game once released on 3 CDs costing £35 or whatever new, we should accept they are releasing in parts at £35 each just because of nostalgia? When I could just buy FF7 PS4 release now for the same (if not questionably more nostalgic due to the fact it's the game I remember) for £9.

I think it should be more of a concern if it's based on modern day gameplay/graphics development vs older story telling. FF3 up had a wealth of story in them, Chrono Trigger and other similar games did too. Playing FF7 for the first time and just going through the story would take up to 40 hours on it's own without spending several hours breeding chocobos or unlocking Master Materias. Yet I didn't feel like I was wandering massive deserts or planes just fighting monsters, we went from one area to the next playing the story and the battles that came with it. I feel I spent more time in FF12 and 13 just getting to the next part of the story instead of playing the story. Maybe this is a sign of how FF games have changed and how FF7 Remake will differ from the original. The added content is just wandering around, like FF12 and 13 but with the same story content the game it just too big.

But hey, as long as Cloud is cross-dressing and you can go on a date with Barrett...

I'm not too thrilled about the idea of splitting the game in "episodes" either. Mostly because I feel we'll have to wait a while between chapters of the game, and that wasn't what I thought I'd do when I'd get my hands on the remake I've been waiting for for so long...

That being said, you and a lot of people here are jumping to worst case conclusions, while having next to no idea how things will be handled, and how everything will work in the end.

I feel it's way to soon to be complaining about the release model, content and whatnot. Until some info gets out, it looks like everyone is jumping to conclusion out of fear, and without giving it all an actual chance to prove itself.

I love the interaction betwen zidane and garnet/dagger/whatever her original name. Haven't played 7 e 8 so I dunno how their greatness compare. But for me 9 is perfect.

PSN>Final Fantasy VIII>Purchase button...

I had it for PS3. But too many other games never left me much time to want to go back and play it with outdated graphics... I`ll keep hope they may redo it, unless I go through all the games I want to play at the moment, so I would buy all the thre again.

Haha, yeah. But fans be fans. This was only ever going to happen. Make me wonder why they didn't do FF6 before FF7.

They did do FF6 ;p - and it came out on iOS/android and will be re-releasing on Steam soon!

Oh god, that, don't remind me.

Hmm, pie.

I wonder if people would complain if they announced Half Life 3: Episode 1 at E3.

They wouldnt because Half-Life 2 was episodic :O

Final Fantasy franchise has never been a episodic release like Half-Life or TWD/LiS. Hence the backlash.

The point is that some series are faced with a deep seeded cynicism that shapes all moves they do in the worst light they can.

They might if they also announced it would be released as a Fighting game.
