Wait, Xbox One runs original Xbox games? That would actually make me very happy for being able to play Burnout 3 again!

Given the obvious technical obstacles as to why the PS4 doesn't run PS2 or PS3 games off the disc, how come nobody complains that GCN discs don't work on the Wii U?

I own Back to the Future on Laser Disc, I'm really peeved that I cannot play it on either VHS, Betamax, DVD or Blu Ray... absolutely ridiculous. ;)

No seriously, I think the only people who have *anything* to complain about is those that purchased these games on PS3 digital... anyone who owns the original discs should be quiet and quit moaning. The only reason I say that PS3 digital, I think Sony should really start the process of ensuring that digital games purchased work, because isn't that what a digital future looks like? But they dont have any real duty to ensuring they do work on PS4 as it's a new platform.

I did a search as I was interested in Rogue Galaxy. Nothing shows up on ps store in UK even though websites say its available here already.

Dunno about the store on the console as I never use it since I always purchase my stuff through the website they were on from 9pm last night.

Of course the PS3 can upscale: the rendering resolution stays SD and the graphics are upscaled to the resolution of the TV in postprocessing... otherwise the TV has to do the upscaling or the game graphics would be in a tiny window.

PS2 games on PS4 already enhance the rendering resolution, which results in a better picture quality.

Yes, they are. Pretty lazy remasters (only enhanced rendering resolution + trophies), but remasters nonetheless.

If you go to the store and then move down to the games link (or something like that on the left hand list) maybe latest releases... move across and you should see a box for the PS2 games. click on that and it will show all of them.

Not a fan of the (lack of) effort for this OP. That with the lack of clarity, examples, and overall quality is enough for a lock.
