Well, I guess that answers my question about the battle system. Looks like an action rpg. Hmmm. I just hope the other important bits of the game turn out good.

Fair point. Though I'm sure we didn't see all of Midgar's spectacles in this video. The emphasis was on smaller areas and the actual characters rather than the environments, so I suspect that we'll see more visually interesting areas in the final version.

Was cool to see those scenes reimagined in new graphics and I was suprised by how true they were to Cloud's artistic design from the early games, seeing as his look has been greatly changed in all his other game appearances.

BUT dat battle system bro. We've already got dozens of games that play that way, many from Square (Star Ocean, KH3, FF15). This remake could've been really novel and retained the old battle system and drawn a lot of good will. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't really disappointed they didn't retain the old system.

I doubt the localized version will have both , but that's probably why the lip syncing wasn't the best

The pc version that went live tonight seems to be selling well. Almost 1000 ratings on the EU store already and it's probably doing even better on the US store. The hype is definitely real even for the PC version. I suppose trophy support is a big bonus.
