Forums - Sony - Rate the Playstation Experience Keynote event 2015!

4-5/10.

Around the Network

The keynote needs to come down to less than 1 hour 30 mins, I would suggest somewhere between 1 hour and 1 hour 15 mins.
The beginning needs to kick things into gear, the video of the old guy really wasn't very entertaining and did little for the presentation overall. It really needs to be more high energy and imaginative.
The beginning, middle and end need to be built around 3 key pillars or feature pieces, big games or announcements.

What is the point of any of you tuning in? I thoroughly enjoyed the show, Uncharted, Final Fantasy Ni No Kuni were obviously the big points, but throughout they showcased great games, were they indie? Yes, does that mean their bad? No. Some great VR stuff on display as well, I'm excited for it now more than ever.

But seriously, what is the point of any of you tuning in? You're all seemingly so negative about the whole thing, according to people like you lot there hasn't been a good games show in years, so little positivity in gaming communities these days, no joy at all in seemingly anything.

Playstation Experience 2015 = 9/10, they showcased Uncharted (might as well give it game of the year 2016 now and be done with it) and Final Fantasy VII Remake with real time combat (aka better than turn based), they could have shut up shop on that alone and still got a 9/10.
Gaming communities online = 3/10, be it on gaming forums like this one, social media comments sections or dedicated video's made specifically to be miserable about gaming, the lengths that modern gamers are going to to be so disappointed and miserable with their favourite hobby still astounds me.

I agree so much with this, just seeing a gameplay for FF7 Remake just 6 months after the announcement is mind blowing i mean a year ago people would have laugh at the idea of even having the game, not to mention the gameplay looked GREAT.

Also

-Freaking Ni Oh (AKA: "Onimusha" is back!) im glad localization is confirmed (i never had much doubts but seeing it in this conference makes me think they are gonna be quick with that localization as well).

-Ace Combat 7 with VR Support... you kidding me? ive been waiting for YEARS for this game (assauslt horizon felt like a spin off although i did enjoy it) but here we have a proper follow up to the series, both exclusive and with VR support, and having tried VR myself im completely HYPED about this, this game will fit perfectly as a VR experience, and a big reason alone to get a VR helmet for me, and the even better part is that i already had VR games that i wanted this only ensures me even more that im buying that PS VR.

-Yakuza  Zero, come on people Yakuza 5 was a huge announcement last year, and sadly i dont think its gonna sell enough to warrant bringing more tittles over but who cares right now because before that game even released on the west we already got the announcement of Zero as well, i am really glad about both of those games coming over.

Nino Kuni 2... i dont even need words, (this game is fucking goregeous).

Street Fighter V announcing Juri, Urien, Guile and Alex... no need for more in fact with Juri it was enough but you took it to the next level there mister Ono.

i enjoyed the conference a LOT, sure there were a ton of other games i didnt care about but with this big announcements how could i even complain... heck if showcasing games that i dont care for in between the games that i cared for was a reason to complain then i would have to complain for EVERY single conference that has ever existed.

9/10 for me, GREAT freaking announcements and more reasons to be overly hyped for the future which is crazy because i already had literally dozens of reasons to be hyped for 2016 and beyond.

I don't watch these conferences much for what is announced, but for how it is done. It should be clear to everyone that, having four or five of such conferences a year, one cannot announce "boatloads of super games" at every instance, because there simply aren't that many.
What interest me more is the flow of the event, all the speakers and how they well prepared (and rehearsed) their stuff and interact with each other. Granted, the longer an event, the less likely the even would be rehearsed as a whole. From the start, a is more in danger of becoming a sequential number show the longer it is planned.

In that regard, I was amazed on how many presenters were amateurish, to put it mildly.
Some still think that it is "cool" to appear in an unwashed t-shirt and worn-out shoes. No, you are not talking to a bunch of kids, you are talking to a world-wide audience of mostly adults - because of streams, internet etc.

Then come the presenters who always have an urgent desire to self-applaud every sentence they utter and laugh into nothingness (I'm thinking of you, hopeless woman) when they realize basically no one starts to applaud.

Then come the presenters who have to constantly remind the audience how absolutely great the show is - despite realizing that the public isn't actually enthusiastic about what is just going on.

I was also amazed about the VR head-honcho guy who rightfully explains that it is almost impossible to demo VR on a stage - and then goes on to prove the very fact nonetheless, in probably the worst way possible. Granted I can't really see doing that, either. But immersing the audience in a lengthy circa 1974 cga graphics demo probably isn't too clever.

So on a presenter scale, I'd give that event a 3/10. The stuff shown as mostly good, though.

Yeah, I know that I watch my porn always for the story and how the actors are able to portray their character and how much cgi was used.

6/10

It was a huge mistake wearing a Crash T-Shirt and then stating 'if it starts like this can you imagine what the rest of it is like?'

8 out of 10. Nice seeing Sony putting their backs into it and getting PS VR vibrant support.

I'll give a 6/10. A lot of games but there wasn't the big surprise (Ni no Kuni 2 is great, but we knew it was coming).

Sure, that's why many were taken by suprise.

To all that negative nancying. Are people a lil spoiled? "Not enough of this, not enough of that bla bla". You should seriously get some wit into you skulls. One expected to see more of Detroit? The game was just announced not two month ago and won't come out till 2017. Too much VR? Duh, VR is going to be next big thing. PS VR is a new plattform so to say. Of course they need to promote it and show stuff. Otherwise Sony wouldn't be better than MS and their failed motion control doohickey. People complain about 2015, because not enough exclusives, now 2016 is filled to the brim and... people still whining and whimpering. Seriously, you people are vicariously embarrasing.

People on the internet be like: "Lol I guess sony support it as much as the vita lol"

Sony announcing one game after another for VR

People on the internet be like: "can sony please stop with all this time for VR and games for it :/"

I'll be generous and give it a 5 out of 10
