That game had a terrible dub. What on earth have you been playing that was worse?

If you believe that FF13 had a terrible dub, I can't imagine how you experienced Xenoblade or really any JRPG made in past several years.

I think what he really meant was the written expression; aka the writing of the dialogue.

That has nothing to do with the dub. A dub is purely the quality of the spoken voice. The quality of the actual writing is something else to criticize.

A lot of people get that mixed up though.

It would be hard to ensure the lip sync would match the english lines/context. since it was developed by Japanese and the game is initially in Japanese, so the lip sync would match the japanese words. No developer would focus on those lip sync on the whole game. that is just absurd.
The dub is good, haven't went into even a quarter of the story to ensure everything is better than XC. I just miss the British accent though, or maybe I've picked my avatar's voice not as Shulk.

Is Reyn's voice also part of XCX? and I thought the Nopon in XCX would have Heropon Riki's voice. :(

and ummmm, it's NLA, United States, would be kinda weird if they spoke British English lol

OFF TOPIC.
Anyone has the metacritic pic score of X vs fallout and just cause, I need it..

Seriously? Who built this culunker? Just shoot it!!

It is pretty good, yeah.

Didn't impress me so far (Though I'm trying to focus on fallout 4 first so I've not played much) and I preferred the dub in the first games. The dialogue seems strange in X. Full of pauses. That said we're so use to terrible voice overs in Japanese games it probably seems like a masterpiece next to many.

I'd say it's perfectly fine to crit the quality of the translation when criting a dub. They're part and parcel of the same thing. It has to be translated in such a way that it fits and seems natural. It's never going to be a good dub if the translation is poor.
