Alright that is true but I feel like those clearly described an upgrade. Like Super means better. Advance means better and then 3D is 3D... What the hell is U lol. And they didnt really emphasize Nintendo in the name again which I thought was stupid.

Nintendo went from GameCube to Wii. And now they are going from Wii U to NX. I can see the difference here will be huge.

Didn't Nintendo say that the 3DS isn't like the NDS?

Love what he said about this though:

I'm guessing a new controller or new way to play then. This doesn't sound like Wii U-2 that can also play portable games (unified platform) and calling it a day. 

Yeah, sure... I'm still conviced the X in NX stands for crossover, don't lie to us.

I know BC has nothing to do with that quote, but it just gave me the feeling that the NX won't be compatible with Wii U games, I really hope it'll be though.

C'mon, it was pretty obvious that after the Wii U fiasco, Nintendo would drop the Wii brand.

And like you, I also wonder what that "make it something that will appeal to our consumer base” line means.

Does this mean we won't have to worry about dragging controllers from many generations ago into the future? Because I say YES! I hate that we're still trying to drag Gamecube controllers, wiimotes, classic controller pros, nunchucks, Wii U Pro controllers, gamepads, etc. etc. back from the last 15 years with us into 2016 when this launches. NX needs a sensible controller that you can buy at a store. And a controller that doesn't separate you from the rest of the people on the couch (gamepad).

I'm glad to see that they are droping the Wii brand! It should have happened with the WiiU, but I digress.

Another wii type console would have been disaster so it´s great they are aiming for something different, hopefully this means the console doen´t have any gimmick and it´s powerful (both unlikely but one can only hope)
