Oh yeah I agree,  worldwide it's absolute domination but this gen the battle between x1 and ps4 is much closer than the ps3 and 360. You must have hated last gen in the US and UK seeing the ps3 do so bad compared to 360. Because it was far worse than the x1 is now doing compared to the ps4.

Last gen I was more or less on the 360 for the most part and wasn't a guy that was heavily into sales (I'm still not that guy tbh), last gen in the end though Sony managed to close the gap but this gen the same isn't going to happen, I feel this gen is going to fair worse for MS.

That's factually incorrect.  In the UK which this thread is about and the US the Ps3 never closed the gap.  It widened every year.  PS3 won the occasional month like when gta 5 released.  That was it.

Worldwide it closed the gap and that's because from the year it launched the ps3 outsold the 360 every year.  The 360 was always ahead because it had a 12 month start in the US and Japan and an 18 month headstart in the EU.

But that's worldwide.  In the UK that never happened.

Are you saying that it hasn't closed the map to this very day despite the amount of units sold/software?.

Now it seems the other way around but without a chance for catch up.

Yes I'm saying the ps3 in the UK and US never closed the gap.  In fact to this day it still widens in these regions.

This gen is far closer and more competitive than last gen in the US and UK,  the only difference is ps4 is winning.

It honestly doesn't feel or sound that way but whatever.

Yeah it's definitely competitive like watching a one armed man vs a two armed one type competitive, like toe to toe brawl, PS4 is also winning outright though.

Congrats Sony !

It doesn't feel like that because when you leave those 2 major regions Playstation is dominating the world console space.  Like in Japan the ps4 has sold over 2m like in the UK but the xbox has sold around 50k. So the gap there alone is equal to the total x1 sales in the UK.  Sony were smart targeting the world.

I hope MS manage to target the world next gen and bring their A game though, I'd love to see major switches like we saw this gen, especially for Nintendo.

They will remember that, hardware wise, they should stay as close to their source as they can...

Does the Wii U not exist in UK? Not even a mention of how bad it sold.

According to VGChartz, no. 315K is more than half of the Wii U's current userbase in the UK.

Frankly, Wii U has done terrible in Europe. X1 is considered a failure in Europe and has done significantly better.

Personally I'm rooting for Nintendo.  End of this gen ps4 will be more than double x1 but the x1 will probably be quadruple the Wii U.  Xbox is fine at it's current levels but we need Nintendo to make a Comeback.
