I hope not. The trains are part of the reason why I don't like Spirit Tracks that much.

Actually, if they are going to put vehicles, didn't they say they would like to use the Link motorbike from Mario Kart 8 in a Zelda game?
Perhaps Zelda U has Karts for fast travel... A good use for MK8 assets ;)

Well technically Skyward Sword also has trains. Zelda U could have them in such a capacity to, but certainly it won't be like Spirit Tracks.
Only hype trains before Nintendo Directs or conferences.
