Thats the key right there. People dont know what they are getting for that money. And thats where M$ gets its suckers from. People that bought the HDD less 360, people who bought one in general. The PS3 has a ton more features both hardware and functionality. The 360 selld all of its "extras" for an insane amount of money and forces you to buy there own stuff. The PS3 has all of those features built in for a fraction of what you would pay getting it with a 360. I think if everyone knew it had a blu-ray drive, up-converted PS1,PS2 and DVDs, was a location free player, allows music and video streaming from your PC, allowed you to increase the size of the HDD to whatever size you want using whatever HDD you wan, could use Blu-tooth peripherals and use the PSP as a remote, hell play PS1 games on your PSP from anywhere in the world. They would realize that the PS3 was a GREAT DEAL. The 360 gets you in cheap, but steals your wallet once you open it.

 You are assuming that everyone would want all those features with the 360, which isn't true. The thing is that people still see gaming systems as little more than, well, gaming systems. Thus having more games is what attracts people. $200 more, with fewer stellar games (upcoming or already here), just doesn't seem that attractive to people, fair or not.

No, the PS3 is not doing the same as the 360. It's doing worse, no matter how much you try to skew the numbers. 2007 aggregate numbers mean nothing as they include the European launch. Every other period in 2007 shows the 360 beating the PS3.

Regarding your comment that any console would sell as well as the Wii for that price, I invite you to look at the history of previous consoles.

You want an experiment? Buy 10 Wii and 10 PS3. Go to e-bay, and make price for every Wii 249$ and for every PS3 299$. Both will be sold out in 1 hour.

In description write, that you are gamer, and want to share a joy with other gamers, that`s why ps3 has such price, and wii is easy available. =)

 Wii is not easily available. And if you actually included the Wii in your link, which you clearly did not (just PS2, PS3, and 360), you would see that the Wii is actually selling about as well as the PS2, which was $299 (especially if you split by regions, since the PS2 launched in Japan 9 months before the US).

 Yet the dumb part of your comment is that we don't deny that the PS3 would be selling better at a lower price. It's that it is NOT selling at a lower price. It's that Sony declared that the price was irrelevant, especially since the PS2's low priced DVD player was such a great selling point.

10 Wii are easy available on e-bay - it`s an explonation in description, why guy is selling them.

So what you complain about? PS3 for it`s price is doing phenomenal GOOD. Just try to sell any other console for 600$, i wonder, how much you will sell.

 Just over 50% of shipments (5.5 million shipped announced at the time 3 million were sold) is not phenominal. The hard numbers are pretty good, but don't pretend following two of the bestselling consoles ever has nothing to do with that.

 What did I type about the Playstations before? So you are pretending that has nothing to do with this.

 The fact is that the PS3 has a great legacy, but is screwing up because of the price. Argue that it would sell better with a lower price all you want. The point is the reality. It doesn't cost less, and it isn't selling better.
