You don't know we're 12 months away from NX. I'm sick of people treating it being a 2016 release as fact when we have literally been given NOTHING to indicate that yet. If anything, the fact that we're still getting big releases on Wii U proves it's more than a year away, since as you yourself are arguing Nintnedo likes to leave their system for dead for a solid 18 months or so before the next.

This E3 was practically confirmation that NX is next year; not a single major new game announced for Wii U. All it has left now besides Zelda is late ports/localizations and low budget filler.

Waiting until 2017 is not an option for Nintendo at this point, but then they'd be sunk.

That November Direct was basically the nail in the coffin. They should have shown some big new Wii U projects coming in 2016 but again -- nothing but a port of a Pokken arcade game that's already finished (for arcades).

That and the report of NX dev kits being out already pretty much seal it. Nintendo wouldn't start giving third parties dev kits two years in advance.

Wii U has been dead so many times already and with only ten million consoles sold it is a miracle there is still coming games for it. Except for the already announced games coming in 2016 there are a few "easy" games that Nintendo could produce. Animal Crossing is one of them. I am a fan of AC but I know that even a HD remake of New Leaf would be sufficient for many people. Maybe it even would sell more than a million.
Off Topic: other "easy" games could be SNES Remix, Captain Toad Two, Nintendoland 2, Luigi's Mansion HD, Yakuza 1&2

Again, Nintendo also said they want Wii U owners to be satisfied, Pikmin 4 for Wii U would perfectly fit, still is big game but doesn't require lots time or resources. Also there is always chance that will be NX port same like probably Zelda U.

Nintendo say a lot of things. They said they wouldn't repeat the mistakes of the 3DS's launch period with Wii U, but they did.

They saying lots a things, some are true another it turns out that are not true. But this situation with satisfying Wii U owners and with Pikmin 4 for me have sense.

When you mentioned bad 3DS launch, 3DS is one of reasons Wii U had bad launch and very bad first year. Because after bad 3DS launch Nintendo invested great effort in order to save it, that very effect on development of Wii U launch and 1st year games. But luckily they will not have any more that problems with new unified platform.

Last E3 certainly didn't seem like they were trying to "satisfy Wii U owners".

You constantly going around.

No with big projects, but with smaller projects, ports and spin offs they continue to support Wii U in order to satisfy Wii U owners before NX comes out, and Pikmin 4 Wii U would be play big role in that support and satisfaction of Wii U owners.

Personally I am satisfied game that we got and games yet need to be released.

If we get Zelda, I will ultimately be satisfied with my Wii U as a purchase.

However, if E3 is indicative of what they consider "satisfying" Wii U owners, then their words are hollow, nothing but another empty PR pledge.

I am 100% certain that we are getting Zelda U, and like I said before to you, basically you don't have any reasons to have any doubts about that.

They consider "satisfying" Wii U owners with games till NX arrives, even if those games are mostly smaller projects, ports and spin offs.

I do have reasons to doubt; Nintendo's lack of trustworthiness and the risk of them holding Zelda to ransom out of desperation to make NX a hit.

And if Amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis are Nintendo's idea of "satisfying" Wii U owners, they must think we have very low standards.

Delaying games or realising ports and spin offs, and not deleariving biggest game for system that is announced basically on launch of that system, that is confirmed almost for that system every time when game is showed or mentioned, game that was already shown running on that system, that was again confirmed just few weeks ago and game for which hype of Wii U owners is huge, is completely different thing. There is not a slate chance that Zelda U will skip Wii U, but you can still have doubts.

Well we also getting Pokken Tournament and maybe we will get Pikmin 4.

Nintendo had no problem leaving Wii and Gamecube to wither and die towards the end of their lives. One would hope they have learned their lesson, but since we're 12 months away from NX and Pikmin 4 hasn't even been shown, I'm not optimistic.

Zelda/Star Fox were originally going to be 2015 titles but were delayed while Twilight Princess is an HD port, SMTxFE is a localization of a 2015 Japanese title and Pokken is a port of a 2015 arcade title. Then u also have to consider all of those games except for Zelda are projects outsourced to 3rd party developers. Nintendo themselves really aren't giving Wii U much support.

Another thing to consider tho, is Iwata's comments last year about the difficulty they have had in the past during the transition years of previous generations. They have had a tough time giving adequate late life support while also giving strong early life support to the next console. This is something they plan on fixing and having the majority of 2016 big releases be outsourced and delayed projects allows them to give Wii U decent support while their internal teams works on NX projects.
