Forums - Sony - Sony confirms: PS2 Emulation coming to PS4

I thought nobody wanted this?

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

I dont understand why some people are in defense mode in regards of this announcement, or with the "Oh! So now BC matters because the Ps4 is getting it" attitude.

Nobody said that the BC on the X1 was worthless, just that it wasnt a system seller feature. Just like it wont be a system seller feature on the Ps4, but a nice addition nonetheless.

I'm referring to complaints from PS4 owners. I'm already seeing things like 'I'm only interested in PS1 games' or 'If it's not disc based Sony can get screwed' or 'Sony just trying to sell us old games again.'

It gets right up my frigin' nose.

But people have opinions and it's their right to state them. If you don't like them, you are free to argue with them. And it's understandable that people who already bought a game and own it don't want to buy the game again.

Yeah, and it gets right up my frigin' nose.

The PS5 Exists.

This would be helpful for me since I still have my ps1 and ps2 consoles with a bunch of games and a crt tv to play them on but if I could play all those games on one console and one tv, I'd definitely use it.

Other than ps4, I play my ps2 almost as much still.

Not complaining but saying it isn't needed, nobody uses it, worthless, I buy a new console to play new games, while not play the old games on the old console, nobody cares for it, "too late, too little", "won't change anything"... That was what immediately came to my mind.

Just quite it already. You can't cherry pick a few comments and pin it on a whole community.

My problem with BC is that it's partially supported. If they wan't people to drop their 360 to get a XB1, the BC support needs to be bigger. It doesn't really work if you only have a certain percentage of your game library supported because you still will need to keep your 360. Unless you have a small game library or/and by chance all of your games are supported then it's kind of useless.

I didn't pin it to a whole community but was replying to a post which contained bothering about some posts. Context is key here.

This isn't PS3 or 360

Same feeling as the Xbox One BC to me, will be a nice feature but not an essential one.
