Forums - Nintendo Discussion - XCX VA's: Nintendo just... thank you

It's kinda pathetic how the same group of voice actors are in every game. I recognized like 5 or 6 voices from Persona.

There's been no confirmation or denial about dual audio. Hope they at least have a DLC pack or something.

Is this a JRPG?

If yes, then yes.

But can you use your bust slider?

JK. The game is looking great though. I really wished I wasn't so busy with school because I'd like to play it. Sadly I'm sticking with shorter games for now.

Too late. Pre-order cancelled.

Bust seriously that sucks, but understandable. Its better to have your priorities in order

Play on words intended???

Yep. Was hoping someone would bring this up. Am tempted to do another one, but I am already being corny as all hell

I'm going to be entirely honest with you. It's not okay or understandable. The problem is, it seems Nintendo wants to get back into the game. We're hearing all these rumors that Nintendo is going all out with the NX and wants to bring the hardcore gamers back. Even Miyamoto has recently stated his frustration with casual gamers. How can they possibly be able to sell the system to all kinds of gamers with their limitations. It's ridiculous.

I am taking a game design course and my professor who used to work at Bioware was telling us that all of the console makes have certain rules and criteria's that need to be followed in order to release your game on their platform. Nintendo is by far the most ridiculous to the point they even have a requirement of where you put your own logo. How can they hope to regain market share have gamers  buy their games when their limitations scare off Western developers?

I really hope that Kimishima forces the NoA to get their shit together. They are the bane of their own success and if they are really planning to make a core gaming console (that's even rumored to have some firepower behind it) then they need to give gamers options, not limit them. Nintendo needs to open up and embrace all markets. Cater to every type of gamer and supply content for each type. Yes, that means Nintendo needs to start making M rated first party titles. They may likely need to use new IP for this or start taking risks with their major IP's. As much as we want an M rated Zelda.... I don't think we will see it. Metroid would make perfect sense as the core fanbase are all adults, and it's a very dark franchise. Hell, the Prime games are more violent that Halo imho. It should also be noted that the largest market of core gamers in general is around the 20-30 age bracket.

It is unfortunate.... but there are people out there who will by a game based on sex appeal. Bust size is one of those things. It is ridiculous but it's reality. Even game developers will use sex appeal to sell their games. Well known developers like Tomonobu Itagaki and even the legendary Hideo Kojima are guilty of this. It works and it works well.

So a game can't be mature if it doesn't have the right to customize the size of titties. Ok, i got it.

Y'know, there are so many mature-themed games and whatnot out there that drives gamers more than breasts. If you seriously think not being able to customize your breast ruins any game play at all, then I feel bad for you. You shouldn't be considered "hard core" if a 400 km^2 sized game loses value because your titties can't be changed.

For shame. I prefer creative strategies for appealing to an adult fanbase, not just nudity=mature game

Maybe if gamers would stop complaining over EVERY little detail, then they'd appreciate games more!

Wow I'm not gonna lie, this is a lot to take in lol.

First off, I just want to say that me saying its understandable was towards the fact that you didn't have time to play this game, not the bust size thing. I really could care less at this point. Though, I agree with you last paragraph.

Hope the course goes well. It's sad that Nintendo has such a strict and tedious standard of restrictions.

Whilst I do think Nintendo needs to cater to more audiences, I don't think it necessitates changing the tone of their exisisting IP so that it fits the M rating. Though I agree with new IP thing as well as Metroid. It does seem like something that could transition to an M rating. I think Nintendo should approach it by being more encompassing with third parties with looser restrictions to content. Also perhaps closer collaborations with other developers who for that type of IP

I couldn't agree more. As I suggested that they should use either new or existing IP's. A interesting IP that I think Nintendo should bring back from the dead is
"Geist" The game was incredibly unique in terms of gameplay and mechanics. Unfortunately it didn't do very well and could have been executed better. There were some very challenging puzzles that weren't very straight forward and there were parts of the game where you needed to get your timing right to posses someone, if you miss that then you have to wait a while until they come around again. The game was also rather violent for a Nintendo game, especially one that Miyamoto had involvement in.  I didn't get very far in it but I remember some guy got impaled by some alien thing and it dangled his body around and then literally tore his head off of his body. Then it pulled him up a hole and dropped him down and blood splattered on the camera. Also if I recall properly you could kill enemies by literally possessing them, killing their allies while possessing them, and then turning the gun to their head as you control them in first person and commit suicide by blowing your brains out.... It was a very interesting and innovative concept to say the least.

I just think Nintendo needs to expand their own audience and let third party companies worry about their games. Loosen up their restrictions and let other developers and publishers put their great games on the NX. Sony and Microsoft's first party titles sure as hell doesn't interfere with third party release. Everyone blames that no one buy's third party games on a Nintendo platform only because of oh strong Nintendo's first party line up is.... While there are tons of gamers that only own Nintendo platforms, it is more than common that they own one other system as well. These same gamers play those 3rd party games on other consoles because they are not offered on a Nintendo platform. Had they been, people may have actually brought the game on the platform. Oh and for the record.... Sony's first party titles are as strong as ever.

Let's get real. Who is going to buy a game like "Mass Effect 3" on the Wii U when they first two games aren't even on the console. It's a story heavy based series and it's not one that you can just play and enjoy in any order. This would Alienate Nintendo fans. Assassin's Creed III is hardly any different. Let's not mention many third party titles on the Wii U come out a fair bit after the release on other platforms, no? :(

Wow.... I can't even take this seriously. I can't tell if you are trolling, trying to be funny, referring to "you" as a third person, or just completely misunderstood everything I said. I never said anything about my considering anything of such sense. I stated an observation, and stated the reality of sex selling in video games. Which it does. I never said that I was one of those people. Just because I observed something, doesn't mean I am apart of it. xD

You know. I saw 007: Specter the other day. My name is Bond, James Bond and I happen to be the best spy the MI6 has ever seen mate.  Based on observations and word of mouth, the women say I am very good in bed. Quite phenomenal at COVERt operations, if you know what I mean. *wink wink*
