I'm not even all digital on PC yet. I might not have a disc drive but that won't stop me from getting the boxes of the games I really like.

But maybe that will be the future of gaming too. Where if you preorder they send you a box, but inside would be an art book and map, ect. Just not a disk.

I would really appreciate that actually. Optical discs are a waste of resources and should die out as soon as possible.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Definitely. I am an avid PC gamer who games on XBO for certain genres as well as exclusives.

All digital, except the game it came with.

I seriously have no idea why the hell people buy physical especially when you can do digital sharing and let Friends or Family DOWNLOAD all of your games and use them anytime on their machine.
Not too mention preloading games and playing them as they release. Not to mention you don't need to swap out the discs, the same discs that do nothing to play your game other than to allow it.

I can only assume the people who play physical console games only do it because they want 5$ off their next game purchase when they sell it to the sinkhole that is Gamestop, or to have a collection to show off to friends and internet people who do not care.

It would make collections even more impressive too. Having a box to a game may then become really valuable. It would also seem a lot more impressive to see a ton of boxes for games if boxes weren't the norm.

With all the free games we all get these days, it's amazing that game sales have been as good as they have. I have an Xbox One, and with BC hitting, I have about 20 games just waiting for me to play for free that I never purchased. If someone wanted to, they could easily get away with buying an Xbox One, getting the MCC or whatever game/s come bundled with it and then just gaming with the free offers every month for the rest of the generation. I mean, think about it... Xbox One is getting 4 free games a month now lol. That's just insane.

The Wii-U is the only console now where physical games are numero uno because unless you're willing to buy an extra HDD, there's not enough space to buy digital. Plus, they don't hand out free games every month.

I started my digital conversion at the end of the 360 and PS3 generation. I bought games during the weekly sales along with downloading the gold and plus games. I like having instant access to my games and also scrolling through them makes me feel rich for some reason. For this gen, I only buy collector's editions to collect and scalp. When games go cheap, I buy. On rare occasions, I get drawn in by hype and buy day one digital.

I have a 2TB external and a 500 GB internal on my 360. Replaced my internal PS3 HDD with a 500 GB drive. Have a 5 TB external for my Xbone and only a stock HDD for PS4. I can't download everything I have digital for PS3 and PS4, because lack of space. It sucks penis Sony doesn't entertain the idea of adding external HDD support for both.

I mostly did on my "New" 3ds but the problem is resale value. You have to find some one that wants all the games you have. For exapamle, Iam tryin to sell my "New" 3DS Limited Editin with 8 digital games and discounting the games from $40 to $30 and $30 games to $20 and a few $8 games for $5 and having a difficult time selling it. Even subtracking $50 from going price from system. If they find away to sell digital games from someone like me that buys them, I'd go all digital. Minus collectors sets.

The irony is that your comment comes off far more elitist than the people you are narrow mindedly attempting to portray as elitist.

#1 I hate gamestop

#2 I think having a video game collection for games these days is pointless and I gave valid reasons.

Who in their right mind enjoys taking a disc out, putting a disc it, over and over again.  The only benefit these days is it does not really matter how scratched the disk gets, as long as the meta data is readable the game still runs.  And again, NO ONE on Earth cares about a video game collection.

I guess a third option exists, when these consoles are dead in 10 years people can always go back and play old games.  Something I also don't see the point in for games these days.  For stuff like n64, completely understandable.

Digital only for sales and deals. Otherwise I go physical

Someone can enjoy having a collection of something without needing to show it off to anyone else in order to derive said enjoyment.  Instead, you derisively paint those people into a category that allows you to look down upon them because it's beyond your comprehension.  It's like saying no one should own a book when they can get an ebook.
