Habe you thought about competition? Splatoon had exactly zero competition.

Halo 5 has CoD, Battlefront and Fallout. So keeping that in mind it's drop is far from bad and it might do well until christmas.

Splatoon has it's problems as well. It's not doing that good in Europe and it already has a huge attach rate in Japan.

Race to three millions will be interesting though.

I expect Splatoon to reach 3 million by the time 2016 arrives.

Halo 5 sold around 3 million easily if we include digital.

nope. Halo isn't far behind and will likely do well over the holidays, as I'm sure splatoon will as well, but the Wii U is holding it back.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

LOL Still talking about these imaginary difital sales.i remember seeing your thread about it.How can you include something that you have no proof of?

@Paatar:
Splatoon is slowly going down in the charts. Should be at MK8 levels some time soon at least in Europe and US. Still doing great for a new IP on Wii U. And Halo will benefit from black friday and december sales as well. Shouldn't be an easy race to 3 millions for Halo but it's victory isn't that unlikely, partially because of bigger and faster growing userbase though.

Lifetime sales Halo 5 clearly should be bigger. Wii U will decline in sales next year and basically be dead in 2017, even without successor.
At the same time we'll see a still growing Xbox One userbase that usually keeps on buying Halo games, especially mainline Halos.

So by the looks of things Halo is already well passed splatoon, even if you put the most dismal numbers of Halo's digital sales and assume black Friday was somehow a mega flop for Halo this is already a non contest.

Halo is huge, not a fan of Halo (as you can tell) at all but just watch, it's gonna SPLAT da heck out of dat toon-ish game, XD!
Halo force is unstoppable.

Its kinda funny that MS's biggest franchise is going toe to toe with a new IP on what is the worst selling console in recent Nintendo history. The fact that this is even debatable shows how far the Halo franchise has fallen. Even if Halo wins, it should be considered a hollow victory.

I think some peoples got an heart attack when they watched this.

Halo 5: Guardians (XOne)
Microsoft Game Studios, Shooter
127,297 2,050,645 4

Splatoon (WiiU)
Nintendo, Shooter
119,465 2,410,030 26

Like I was saying.
Splatoon has a shot.
Not a guarantee. Not impossible.
But it has a chance.

Consider USA+UK percentage on Halo 3 and 4 on gen 7th to this one could prove a mistake since Xbox sales concentrated even more on the 2 countries compared to last gen... we could be looking at even a 85% marketshare for Halo here on both countries instead of the 75-80% of previous gen..

And as people said, the mere possibility of it happening is baffling enough if we think about 6 months ago.
