Then why bring it up here?

Are you serious? I can't tell if your being sarcastic.

There are numerous posts where I said I think Xbox One would win and even bet on it. I'm still sure the PS4 sold more globally.

That usually goes without saying heh.

Yikes, Halo did really bad. I had a feeling it would sell much less than previous games, but didn't think it would be this low. Will it even sell 6m lifetime?

Doing some Halo math with 20% estimated digital added i came up with 5m lifetime.

Usually Halos sell roughly one third first week and worldwide sales can be estimated as well from former entries, usually roughly two thirds in the US.

So if there's no ridiculously high digital attach rate it should have 1.1m fw in US>1.65m WW. Times three is 4.95 million. Give or take some hundred K.

That's based on ODST, Reach and 4.

Halo MCC has had a slightly better attach rate outside the US tough. Almost 2/5's.

So if it's the same with Halo 5 that would take Halo 5 to 1.75-1.85m first week WW. And MCC so far has been loosing momentum less fast than even Halo 3, based on VGC data.

A bit early to see how that will play out in the long term, but there's a slight possibility that it stays this way and even counts for Halo 5. MCC is almost at three times it's first week sales now. So it could end somewhere between four and five times fw sales as lifetime sales. That's really just a guess though.

Now, 1.8m*4=7.2m; 1.8m*5=9m

I don't say that this is a perfectly realistic scenario. It's just a possibility of changed customer behavior based on MCC data. So right now i'd go with 5m lifetime until sales data tells us something different. And looking at MCC sales sometime next year might tell alot about Halo 5 sales in 2017.

According to IGN: "The Wii U console also saw an increase in sales of 40% over last October. According to Nintendo, sales "have increased more than 20 percent in the first 10 months of 2015," compared to the same time period last year.

That's weird because Nintendo reported in their financial report that the Wii U is down YoY in the US. Maybe they confused software and hardware, Wii U software us better than last year.

This is for investors so maybe this is FY (march-march) while the NPD report is Year/Year (?)

Again Idk, but this guy seems weird giving away alot of numbers to NeoGaf members

Hi OP is the number for Halo 5 rumoured or official statement from NPD?

It comes from a guy who has access to NPD (or works for NPD) on NeoGAF:

He seems to have been verified so it should be true.

CW = calendar week

And look at the last weeks, it can't end with March 31.

The internet is frigin' ridiculous. Sony announce 29.3m shipped PS4s and up their target for this fiscal year by 1m and people call consoles dead just because of one bad month. Jesus Christ, I wouldn't want any of those people beside me in a real battle, they'd be flapping like a schoolboy every time they saw someone with a stick in their hand.

I think the price cut did great for the PS4.  The only problem?  Most of those people preordered the COD and SW bundles.  I know I would with it only being a month away from launch.  Have to wait til Nov to test that theory, though.

Exactly. I've been saying the exact same thing for a while. I think Sony should have dropped the price this month as opposed to last month. Cause all the games anyone is buying from when the price drop was announced are all games coming this month not last month. Why would I buy a PS4 for $350 if I can oreoder one or wait and still buy it at $350 or maybe even less (bf deals) and get it bundled with the game I was going to biy it for anyways?

I think the only really bad thing of October is how little of an impact halo had on the XB1. being just 28k ahead isn't anything when u consider that's the best shot it had to outsell the ps4. Then again even that possibility was considered by some suggesting that the halo faithful has already picked up an XB1

Yeah, you're probably right, the IGN numbers seemed weird cause if so october would be up september which had the release of SMM (very unlikely)... also it's the only source posting these numbers

But still, I don't 100% believe this NPD_George
